Download or read book Mobius’ Code written by Francis Rosenfeld and published by Francis Rosenfeld. This book was released on 2018-03-24 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What can you say about a girl who was supposed to die tragically young? That her guardian angel got distracted while writing her life code and inadvertently sent her into an infinite loop, a quantum uncertainty of sorts, packed with bonus features. This sort of stuff can create minor issues for the rest of Creation, issues which, of course, need to be ironed out, but there is nothing that can't be fixed with good team spirit and a can do attitude, especially if you're not unreasonably inflexible about the laws of physics. Don't worry about breaking reality, you can always make yourself another one, or several, and improve the quantum efficiency of the electromagnetic spectrum in the process. Still in beta testing.
Book Synopsis Geometries, Codes and Cryptography by : G. Longo
Download or read book Geometries, Codes and Cryptography written by G. Longo and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-05-04 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The general problem studied by information theory is the reliable transmission of information through unreliable channels. Channels can be unreliable either because they are disturbed by noise or because unauthorized receivers intercept the information transmitted. In the first case, the theory of error-control codes provides techniques for correcting at least part of the errors caused by noise. In the second case cryptography offers the most suitable methods for coping with the many problems linked with secrecy and authentication. Now, both error-control and cryptography schemes can be studied, to a large extent, by suitable geometric models, belonging to the important field of finite geometries. This book provides an update survey of the state of the art of finite geometries and their applications to channel coding against noise and deliberate tampering. The book is divided into two sections, "Geometries and Codes" and "Geometries and Cryptography". The first part covers such topics as Galois geometries, Steiner systems, Circle geometry and applications to algebraic coding theory. The second part deals with unconditional secrecy and authentication, geometric threshold schemes and applications of finite geometry to cryptography. This volume recommends itself to engineers dealing with communication problems, to mathematicians and to research workers in the fields of algebraic coding theory, cryptography and information theory.

Book Synopsis Formal Methods for Components and Objects by : Marcello M. Bonsangue
Download or read book Formal Methods for Components and Objects written by Marcello M. Bonsangue and published by Springer. This book was released on 2008-12-04 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Formal methods have been applied successfully to the verification of medium-sized programs in protocol and hardware design. However, their application to the development of large systems requires more emphasis on specification, modelling and validation techniques supporting the concepts of reusability and modifiability, and their implementation in new extensions of existing programming languages like Java. The 6th International Symposium on Formal Methods for Components and Objects, FMCO 2007, was held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in October 2007. This book presents 12 revised papers submitted after the symposium by the speakers of each of the following European IST projects: the IST-FP6 project Mobius, developing the technology for establishing trust and security for the next generation of global computers; the IST-FP6 project SelfMan on self management for large-scale distributed systems based on structured overlay networks and components; the IST-FP6 project GridComp and the FP6 CoreGRID Network of Excellence on grid programming with components; the Real-time component cluster of the Network of Excellence on Embedded System Design ARTIST, focussing on design processes, and architectures for real-time embedded systems; and the IST-FP6 project CREDO on modeling and analysis of evolutionary structures for distributed services.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book to focus on designing run-time reconfigurable systems on FPGAs, in order to gain resource and power efficiency, as well as to improve speed. Case studies in partial reconfiguration guide readers through the FPGA jungle, straight toward a working system. The discussion of partial reconfiguration is comprehensive and practical, with models introduced together with methods to implement efficiently the corresponding systems. Coverage includes concepts for partial module integration and corresponding communication architectures, floorplanning of the on-FPGA resources, physical implementation aspects starting from constraining primitive placement and routing all the way down to the bitstream required to configure the FPGA, and verification of reconfigurable systems.

Book Synopsis Restricted Congruences in Computing by : Khodakhast Bibak
Download or read book Restricted Congruences in Computing written by Khodakhast Bibak and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-09-24 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Congruences are ubiquitous in computer science, engineering, mathematics, and related areas. Developing techniques for finding (the number of) solutions of congruences is an important problem. But there are many scenarios in which we are interested in only a subset of the solutions; in other words, there are some restrictions. What do we know about these restricted congruences, their solutions, and applications? This book introduces the tools that are needed when working on restricted congruences and then systematically studies a variety of restricted congruences. Restricted Congruences in Computing defines several types of restricted congruence, obtains explicit formulae for the number of their solutions using a wide range of tools and techniques, and discusses their applications in cryptography, information security, information theory, coding theory, string theory, quantum field theory, parallel computing, artificial intelligence, computational biology, discrete mathematics, number theory, and more. This is the first book devoted to restricted congruences and their applications. It will be of interest to graduate students and researchers across computer science, electrical engineering, and mathematics.
