Book excerpt: Are you struggling to connect with your son or daughter? Do you feel like you are speaking different languages? Are you afraid of causing emotional damage and seeing them drift away forever? Parenting is not easy. Parent-child relationships can be fraught with misunderstandings and conflicts that leave both sides feeling frustrated and disconnected. These challenges can significantly impact your son's or daughter's mental health and self-esteem, leading to feelings of isolation, anxiety, and even depression. Despite your efforts, your connection with your son or daughter might be slipping away, keeping you awake with fear and worry. As they navigate the complexities of life, they need a strong, supportive relationship with their parents to thrive. Without this foundation, they may struggle with the diverse challenges life presents, feeling unsupported and misunderstood. I recommend reading this book if you recognize at least one of the following traits in your son or daughter: • Increased Secrecy: They are more secretive about their activities and whereabouts. • Frequent Arguments: Small disagreements quickly escalate into major conflicts. • Withdrawal from Family Activities: They prefer to spend time alone or with friends rather than participating in family events. • Decline in Academic or Work Performance: Stress and emotional turmoil affect their performance. • Signs of Anxiety or Depression: Noticeable changes in mood, sleep patterns, or overall behavior. • Rebellious Behavior: They engage in risky behaviors or consistently break rules. • Minimal Communication: They rarely open up about their thoughts or feelings. • Avoidance of Family Events: They find excuses to skip family gatherings or keep their distance. If you recognize these signs in your son or daughter, don't lose hope. There is a way to bridge the gap and rebuild your relationship. The harder you try to connect, the more they pull away, leaving you heartbroken and confused. As a parent, you might be feeling: • Heartbroken: Watching your son or daughter pull away and feeling powerless to stop it • Frustrated: Every conversation seems to end in conflict or misunderstanding. • Worried: Concerned about their well-being and the growing distance between you. • Lonely: Missing the close, trusting relationship you once had. By reading this book, you'll gain the tools to transform your relationship with your son or daughter, helping them feel more secure, confident, and connected. The cycle of misunderstanding can continue unless you do something about it. Don’t let misunderstandings and conflicts define your relationship. Take the first step towards a deeper, more loving connection with your son or daughter today. "Misunderstood Sons and Daughters" offers insights and strategies to help you strengthen the most important relationship in your life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My book is about disappointment, love, pain, betrayal, and success. My dream was to finish high school in 1974 and go straight to college. I had a minor setback. My high school sweetheart was pregnant. I had a decision to make, either go to college or find a job. This was the most important decision I had to make in my life. But I chose to take care of my unborn child. I had to put college on hold. So at the age of eighteen, I married her. Eight years later, we were divorced. I was faced with another important decision: to raise my daughters without their mother. She gave me sole custody through the court. Now I had to take the role of both parents. I found love again in my third wife. There were struggles in raising six children. I had three failed businesses, which was heartbreaking, but I never gave up on business. I went back to college and graduated with an associate degree and a bachelor's degree in business and became successful. I overcame my failures from my first wife and worked on a successful marriage with my current wife. I refused to give up on life. God always walks beside me. The church is my greatest blessing. I also talk about incest, family members molesting my daughters. There were no male role models in my family.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is it God's will for a brother to marry his sister so that they can create a population of mankind? Is it God's will to wipe out the entire Amalekites (Canaanites) nation? Is it God's will to demand Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac? How could God bless Job and then take away all the blessings from Job? There are so many questions we develop whenever we read the Bible, just like how many parts and verses of the Bible makes no sense at all. Because of how we read the Bible; we think of God as a bigot, sadistic, bully, and hash judge. Yet we see God as a loving God in the New Testament, from that conclusion alone makes us contradict the Bible. Many Christians say the Bible is God's words, yet how could God's word be so hard to comprehend and misunderstand? God gave a user-friendly promise to Abraham in a form of a picture by pointing out to Abraham how abundantly large his descendants would be; by showing him the numerous stars in the skies in order to convince Abraham and make his imagination run wild. If God can explain His promise to Abraham so simply, why is it so hard to understand some verses and stories in the bible if the Bible is God's words? Come with me and I will explain to you how we misunderstand God whenever we read the bible. You will come to conclude the reason why God makes certain decisions, or why God allows certain things to happen. You do not need to be a scholar, Apologetic, or highly educated person to understand God. Many questions you have or questions many ask countless times are answered in this book.

Book excerpt: From a layman's point of view the author attempts to interpret some of the most misunderstood and misinterpreted Scriptures of the Bible in a layman's language so that they may be easily understood by those who seek to know the Word of God and so that they may not be misinterpreted by those who seek to preach the Word of God. He also attempts to show how the Scriptures are manipulated by those who seek to make personal and material gain from the Word of God at the expense of their own flock. This is in order that the readers of this book may understand some of the most important Scriptures of the Bible, teach them within the Scriprures own accord and for all believers to be aware of the manipulators of the Word of God hiding in the church of God exploiting the very souls they are supposed to save.

Book excerpt: At last, a straight-talking book that takes parents into the mysterious world of boys. How do you raise boys to men in a world where trouble beckons at every turn? How do you make sure they learn the right lessons, stay out of danger, find a path to follow? How do you ensure they'll be OK? Author Celia Lashlie has some of the answers. After years working in the prison service, she knows what can happen when boys make the wrong choices. She also knows what it's like to be a parent - she raised a son on her own and feared for his survival. As a crucial part of the NZ Good Man Project, she talked to 180 classes of boys throughout the country. Her insights into what boys need - and what parents can do to help them - are ground-breaking. In this honest, no-nonsense and best-selling book, Celia Lashlie reveals what goes on inside the world of boys, and that it is an entirely different world from that of girls. With clarity and insight, she offers parents - especially mothers - practical and reassuring advice on raising their boys to become good, loving, articulate men. 'At last, a mother's guide on the best way to raise sons.' - Courier Mail 'Lashlie writes with a refreshing candour and honesty.' - Courier Mail '... anyone who is involved in boys' education or has male children will benefit from reading this.' Book excerpt: Although it is a foundational confession for all Christians, much of the theological significance of Jesus's identity as "the Son of God" is often overlooked or misunderstood. Moreover, this Christological concept stands at the center of today's Bible translation debates and increased ministry efforts to Muslims. New Testament scholar D. A. Carson sheds light on this important issue with his usual exegetical clarity and theological insight, first by broadly surveying Jesus's biblical name as "the Son of God," and then by focusing on two key texts that speak of Christ's sonship. The book concludes with the implications of Jesus's divine sonship for how modern Christians think and speak about Christ, especially in relation to Bible translation and missionary engagement with Muslims across the globe.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1921, despite the passing of legislation intended to ease the consequences of illegitimacy for children (Children of Unmarried Parents Act), reformers in Ontario made no effort to improve the status of unwed mothers. Furthermore, the reforms that were passed served as models for legislation in other provinces and even in some American states, institutionalizing, in essence, the prejudices evident throughout. Until now, historians have not sufficiently studied these measures, resulting in the marginalization of unwed mothers as historical subjects. In Misconceptions, Lori Chambers seeks to redress this oversight. By way of analysis and careful critique, Chambers shows that the solutions to unwed pregnancy promoted in the reforms of 1921 were themselves based upon misconceptions. The book also explores the experiences of unwed mothers who were subjected to the legislation of the time, thus shedding an invaluable light on these formerly ignored subjects. Ultimately, Misconceptions argues that child welfare measures which simultaneously seek to rescue children and punish errant women will not, and cannot, succeed in alleviating child or maternal poverty.

Book excerpt: “Full of colorful anecdotes…tells us a lot about the French but even more about ourselves.”—Los Angeles Times This is an intriguing and thoughtful analysis of the many ways French and Americans—and indeed any members of different cultures—can misinterpret each other, even when ostensibly speaking the same language. Cultural misunderstandings, Raymonde Carroll points out, can arise even where we least expect them: in our closest relationships. With revealing vignettes and perceptive observations, she brings to light some fundamental differences in French and American presuppositions about love, friendship, and raising children, as well as such everyday activities as using the telephone or asking for information. “An entertaining, informative book…often witty…a vital source for learning how to establish amity not only between the U.S. and France but among all the world’s nations.”—Publishers Weekly
