Have a meeting through their Deacons or other appointed agents, and agree upon what would be a liberal compensation for the services rendered or to be rendered by him, and what proportion of the sum 80 agreed on each church ought to pay, and we would urge upon each church, a party to such an arrangement, the duty and necessity of adopting at once some measures by which they can promptly raise their proportionate share of the stipulated sum, and to the members of all the churches. Whether cofopertaing with others or not, we would say Brethren, do not forget the command, to give as the Lord has prospered you; and the Savior has said If you love me, ye wil keep my commandments.
