Book excerpt: I started writing this book as a way to figure somethings out for myself; I was lost. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I wasn't alone. My whole generation seemed lost. Millennials grew up in the best time ever to be a kid. The 90's were infused with a sense of optimism. There was no specter of nuclear war or vast political unrest. The biggest political problem revolved around the president getting a blow job. Our cartoons and TV shows depicted a utopia of post-racialism and an aura of general happiness. The world seemed to be spinning towards bigger and better things. We were Toys R Us Kids - we never wanted to grow up. We always knew it sucked being an adult and we were right. Our naïve '90s childhood was smashed on 9/11. Many of us graduated from college right around the 2008 financial crisis. In our 20s and 30s, we have seen the rise of extreme political polarization and tribalism, racial protests across the country, and the 2020 pandemic. Life comes at you fast. What will become of the millennial generation? Will millennials be able to overcome denial and accept our current political problems for what they are? Can millennials accept getting older and taking charge? Can we grow up, or will we be Toys R Us Kids forever? The purpose of this book is to encourage millennials to reclaim our youthful optimism by confronting the challenging issues of our time: welfare, abortion, guns, climate change, healthcare, and race. It's time for millennials to take command of our political future.

Book excerpt: At the 2007 Shepherds' Conference, Pastor John MacArthur delivered a controversial message entitled, "Why Every Self-Respecting Calvinist is a Premillennialist". In this book, Dr. Sam Waldron addresses the assertions of MacArthur historically, exegetically and theologically. Although his arguments are rigorous, the entire tenor of the book is level-headed and irenic. This "friendly response" grants modern day Amillennialists the opportunity to thoughtfully engage their Dispensational brethren.

But what, exactly, is socialism? And what would a socialist system look like today? In The Socialist Manifesto, Bhaskar Sunkara, editor of Jacobin magazine, argues that socialism offers the means to achieve economic equality, and also to fight other forms of oppression, including racism and sexism. The ultimate goal is not Soviet-style planning, but to win rights to healthcare, education, and housing and to create new democratic institutions in workplaces and communities. The book both explores socialism's history and presents a realistic vision for its future. A primer on socialism for the 21st century, this is a book for anyone seeking an end to the vast inequities of our age.

Col. Allen B. West, Monica Crowley, Dr. Alveda C. King and Michelle Malkin. In this, the first of many books to come, Demetrius Minor lends a strong and independent voice to his Millennial Generation, as a self-imposed catalyst, poised to help steer America back toward a path where traditional values play an increasingly important role for future generations. Using his own dynamic personal history as an example, Minor introduces the making of a young millennial and proves the person, not the circumstance, paves the way for individual preservation. An impassioned manifesto follows, and dives into the sensitive but crucial issues of faith, family and politics, laying the foundation for individual purpose—the greater good.

If you’re in your twenties, you’re likely feeling the combination of the excitement of this defining decade and the pressure to figure out your entire life. The thrill of newfound independence and opportunity can be quickly squelched by worry, disillusionment, or disappointment. Like thousands of other twenty somethings, you may have experienced what life coach and quarter-life expert Christine Hassler calls an “Expectation Hangover?.” This manifesto explores the all-important questions and life choices of these turbulent yet exciting years. Twenty somethings may commiserate about the challenges they face, but few resources offer practical lessons or suggestions. In these pages, quarter-life men and women tell their stories, sharing their successes and failures, along with their frustrations and realizations. The author’s insightful commentary and “take away” suggestions provide the tools and skills you need to create change and direction in your life. You’ll recognize and articulate your personal goals, paving the way to what you truly want.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A good education will land you a good job,” “Be an entrepreneur/Start something in a garage or dorm room” and even “Jesus saves” are narratives that collapsed for the millennial generation (born 1982-2002). These narratives, amongst many similar social and religious ones, have lost their meaning and power as millennials question all authorities and struggle to flourish in a world come of age. With their needs for community and success, a strong spirituality, and believing that their gifts should be recognized and can make a difference, millennials increasingly find meaning and purpose outside the church. As they face economic uncertainty, reduced career prospects, unceasing change, as well as civic, global, and ecological uncertainties, however, a large number of millennials are overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety and depression. Caught between hope and fear, millennials leave the church with their values of personal transformation, purpose, community, spirituality, social transformation and ecological awareness. Ironically the church often holds the same values. The Millenial Narrative is written for pastoral leaders who want to welcome millennials, both inside and outside their congregation. The book draws on the wisdom of the prophetic Book of Joel as a narrative worth living into. Drawing on Joel’s three chapters, The Millenial Narrative empowers pastoral leaders to: • Facilitate the work of mourning Millennials are facing; • Envision a spiritual community that can welcome millennials; • Introduce a compassionate God that restores and indwells as the Spirit; • Reflect on God’s judgment through the lens of accountability; and, • Support and encourage millennials to be a blessing to others. In addition, pastoral leaders will receive a sermon outline and material for adult education.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sarah Pickard offers a detailed and wide-ranging assessment of electoral and non-electoral political participation of young people in contemporary Britain, drawing on perspectives and insights from youth studies, political science and political sociology. This comprehensive book enquires into the approaches used by the social sciences to understand young people’s politics and documents youth-led evolutions in political behaviour. After unpicking key concepts including ‘political participation,’ ‘generations,’ the ‘political life-cycle,’ and the ‘youth vote,’ Pickard draws on a combination of quantitative and qualitative research to trace the dynamics operating in electoral political participation since the 1960s. This includes the relationship between political parties, politicians and young people, youth and student wings of political parties, electoral behaviour and the lowering of the voting age to 16. Pickard goes on to discuss personalised engagement through what she calls young people’s (DIO) Do-It-Ourselves political participation in online and offline connected collectives. The book then explores young people’s political dissent as part of a global youth-led wave of protest. This holistic book will appeal to anyone with an interest in young people, politics, protest and political change.

Book excerpt: "The Dream Unfurled: A Manifesto for Millennial America" offers a concise and insightful analysis of our system of governance, its pitfalls, and a remedy that waxes familiar: government of the people, by the people, and, most importantly, for the people. A bell tone for those seeking an honest departure from a corrupt and unjust system of governance, this brief political essay aims to inspire nothing less than the realization of the American dream.
