Most men by nature are con servative, and an education in what direction soever, is likely to leave an impression for life. Hence the difficulty in true progress. But considering the fact that physicians who are competent to carry on systematic experiments and take intel ligent observations thereon, are generally the most liberal, I do the more cheerfully undertake the task of pressing the claim of a new theory.
