One day, she and her family take a walk through the woods behind their home. Megon decides to run ahead of them through the woods but trips and falls down a steep slope. She lands in front of what looks like a cave. Megon is very curious when she hears the sound of giggles, so she quietly creeps into the cave to investigate. She discovers a family of dragons! In her dragon costume, the young dragons think Megon looks a little strange but welcome her anyway and try teaching her how to blow flames from her mouth. To blow fire, Megon has to think about something that makes her angry—really angry. When she thinks about this, she is so angry that she blows a little bit of fire out of her mouth! The Mummy dragon then reminds her that she has to learn how to stop the flame, and in order to do that she has to learn how to control her anger. Megon not only meets her favourite creatures but she also learns how to control her temper.

But when the mummy dragon suddenly whooshes down to the ground from the sky, Megon decides that learning to fly is much more fun than eating worms. Book excerpt: “A fun, modern take on Pride and Prejudice.”—Jojo Moyes, bestselling author of Me Before You In this hilarious reboot of Pride and Prejudice, Megan McKnight is a soccer star with Olympic dreams. When her Southern belle mother secretly enters her as a debutante for the 2016 deb season in their hometown of Dallas, she’s furious—and has no idea what she’s in for. Megan’s attitude swiftly gets her on probation with the mother hen of the debs, and she’s given a month to prove she can ballroom dance, display impeccable manners, and curtsey like a proper Texas lady or she’ll get the boot and disgrace her family. The perk of being a debutante, of course, is going to parties, and it’s at one of these lavish affairs where Megan gets swept off her feet by the debonair and down-to-earth Hank Waterhouse. If only she didn’t have to contend with a backstabbing blonde and her handsome but surly billionaire boyfriend, Megan thinks, being a deb might not be so bad after all. But that’s before she humiliates herself in front of a room full of ten-year-olds, becomes embroiled in a media-frenzy scandal, and gets punched in the face by another girl. The season has officially begun…but the drama is just getting started. Find out for yourself why this pitch-perfect blend of scandal, romance, and humor is being hailed as the best Austen adaptation since Clueless.

Book excerpt: From the best-selling author and rewilding pioneer Isabella Tree, When We Went Wild is a heartwarming, sustainably printed picture book about the benefits of letting nature take the lead, inspired by real-life rewilding projects. Nancy and Jake are farmers. They raise their cows and pigs, and grow their crops. They use a lot of big machines to help them, and spray a lot of chemicals to get rid of the weeds and the pests. That's what all good farmers do, isn't it? And yet, there is no wildlife living on their farm. The animals look sad. Even the trees look sad! One day, Nancy has an idea... what if they stopped using all the machines, and all the chemicals, and instead they went wild? The author’s own experience of rewilding her estate at Knepp in West Sussex, England, has influenced conservation techniques around the world that are bringing nature back to the countryside and bringing threatened species back from the brink. Ivy Kids brings you beautiful, sustainably printed books to rewild your child. They are hopeful, joyful stories and nonfiction about nature and the environment that are charmingly illustrated and printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper, locally in the US, and using renewable energy. Praise for Wilding, the author’s best-selling memoir: “In a story that is part personal memoir, part work of conservation, Tree reveals the capacity of the wild to reclaim the land—as long as humans step out of the way.” —Smithsonian, “The Ten Best Science Books of 2018” “Wilding is both a timely and important book.” —Tim Flannery, The New York Review of Books

Book excerpt: Rooks have embraced science and technology, inventing microscopic robots called nanos to create any machine they need. The Terraquois are their opposite. They embraced the spiritual and developed a deep bond with nature. This bond allows them to shift into the animal that resembles their true inner selves. These two races have fought each other with brutal savagery for centuries, but a new threat called the Blak Army has emerged and its evil is matched only by its ruthlessness. With insidious, ancient power at the fingertips of their mad leader, Wilhelm Coran, their victory is nearly assured. The only threat to his plans are a Terraquois girl named Keiara and the Rook Prince, Rone Varlamagne. When Rone crashes near enemy lands after he is shot out of the sky, Keiara is the one that stumbles upon him. Instead of leaving him to die, she saves his life. It is one conscious choice but it sets in motion a chain of events bigger than either of them could imagine. Together, the two face foes from every direction and they will stop at nothing to protect each other.

Dees has won a Golden Heart Award, two RITAs for Category Suspense and Adventure and has also twice snared RT's Series Romantic Suspense of the Year. She is a great storyteller, and the adventures in her more than fifty novels are often inspired by her own life as the youngest female pilot in Air Force history. But as much as she love romances, Cindy's other passion has been fantasy gaming. For almost twenty years she's been the story content creator for Dragon Crest, one of the original live action role-playing games. Now, with the blessing and input of Dragon Crest founder Bill Flippin, she has created a trilogoy based on the game. The Sleeping King is the first in an epic fantasy series featuring the best of the genre: near immortal imperial overlords, a prophecy of a sleeping elven king who's said to be the savior of the races . . . and two young people who are set on a path to save the day.
