Book Synopsis Advances in Concrete Slab Technology by : Ravindra K. Dhir OBE
Download or read book Advances in Concrete Slab Technology written by Ravindra K. Dhir OBE and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-18 with total page 804 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advances in Concrete Slab Technology documents the proceedings of the International Conference on Concrete Slabs held at Dundee University on April 3-6, 1979. This book discusses the influence of steel fiber-reinforcement on the shear strength of slab-column connections; sulfur-treated concrete slabs; yield line analysis of orthotropicaly reinforced exterior panels of flat slab floors; and behavior of flat slab/edge column joints. The design of multiple panel flat slab structures; structural behavior of floor slabs in shear wall buildings; shrinkage and cracking of concrete at early ages; and slab construction for HAB system modules are also elaborated. This text likewise covers the direct finishing of concrete slabs using the early age power grinding technique; application of vacuum dewatering to in-situ slab production; retexturing of concrete slabs; and fatigue resistance of composite precast and in situ concrete floors. This publication is a good reference for students and individuals concerned with the practices and research relating to slab technology.

Book Synopsis Finite Element Bibliography by : Gerard De Vries
Download or read book Finite Element Bibliography written by Gerard De Vries and published by Springer. This book was released on 1976-12 with total page 706 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thjs bibliography had its inception in 1967, when the compilers first attempted a comprehensive cov erage of the finite element literature using both manual and computer-based retrieval. Initially, the data base was stored on a card index, but this was subsequently transferred to punched cards and magnetic tape. Computer processing was adopted at an early stage to derive the three index formats from the data base. Over the subsequent years, several versions of the bibliography were produced, with two of these being made available in a report form to other researchers. From the widespread interest in these documents, it became evident that there was a need for a commercially-available comprehensive bibliography in this area. A major effort was undertaken to revise, update, and extend the data base, resulting in this present volume. The bibliography covers the period 1956-1975 primarily, although some earlier publications of histori cal interest are included. The citations are not restricted to the English language and documents are listed in many languages and from diverse places of origin. All publication formats were accepted, so that references will be found to books, monographs, journal papers and articles, theses, dissertations, reports, surveys, and the like.

Book Synopsis Classical And Computational Solid Mechanics (Second Edition) by : Yuen-cheng Fung
Download or read book Classical And Computational Solid Mechanics (Second Edition) written by Yuen-cheng Fung and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2017-05-25 with total page 861 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition provides an update of the recent developments in classical and computational solid mechanics. The structure of the book is also updated to include five new areas: Fundamental Principles of Thermodynamics and Coupled Thermoelastic Constitutive Equations at Large Deformations, Functional Thermodynamics and Thermoviscoelasticity, Thermodynamics with Internal State Variables and Thermo-Elasto-Viscoplasticity, Electro-Thermo-Viscoelasticity/Viscoplasticity, and Meshless Method. These new topics are added as self-contained sections or chapters. Many books in the market do not cover these topics. This invaluable book has been written for engineers and engineering scientists in a style that is readable, precise, concise, and practical. It gives the first priority to the formulation of problems, presenting the classical results as the gold standard, and the numerical approach as a tool for obtaining solutions.

Book Synopsis Lloyd’s Register Technical Association 1970-1971 by : Lloyd's Register Foundation
Download or read book Lloyd’s Register Technical Association 1970-1971 written by Lloyd's Register Foundation and published by Lloyd's Register . This book was released on 1970-01-01 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Lloyd’s Register Technical Association (LRTA) was established in 1920 with the primary objective of sharing technical expertise and knowledge within Lloyd’s Register. Publications have consistently been released on a yearly basis, with a brief interruption between 1938 and 1946. These publications serve as a key reference point for best practices and were initially reserved for internal use to maximise LR’s competitive advantage. Today, the LRTA takes a fresh approach, focusing on collaboration by combining professional expertise from across LRF & Group to ensure a frequent output of fresh perspectives and relevant content. The LRTA has evolved into a Group-wide initiative that identifies, captures, and shares knowledge spanning various business streams and functions. To support this modern approach, the LRTA has adopted a new structure featuring representatives and senior governance across the business streams and the LR Foundation. The Lloyd's Register Technical Association Papers should be seen as historical documents representing earlier viewpoints and are not reflective of current thinking and perspectives by the current LR Technical Association.
