Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the sudden opening of the markets in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in 1989, there has been a growing need to investigate the fundamental changes occurring in the countries’marketing environment, the lucrative market opportunities created by the changes, and the inscrutable marketing practice followed by local and international companies. Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe helps you understand the changes taking place in these valuable and challenging markets and introduces you to the emerging opportunities and effective marketing strategies to be employed in the region. Researchers specializing in CEE business; managers of international companies operating in or contemplating entering CEE markets; and students studying CEE business, East-West business, or marketing in transitional economies will better understand the region by examining issues of cross- cultural inquiry, commonality, and market segmentation. Marketing in Central and Eastern Europe also provides you with: a region-relevant market analysis to determine environmental dimensions of emerging markets a preliminary report on market-entry strategies in Poland an assessment of foreign direct investment opportunities in Hungary a study of Western-style marketing applied in transitional economies an analysis of marketization and Westernization used as classifying dimensions information on increasing the validity of post-command economy research and application Although the book’s chapters cover a variety of topics and use different research approaches and methodologies, they have a common theme--there is a great interest in, and an equally great need to scientifically investigate, rapidly emerging market opportunities, marketing-environment issues, and marketing-strategy problems with respect to transitional economies of Central and Eastern Europe.

Book Synopsis Social Enterprise in Central and Eastern Europe by : Jacques Defourny
Download or read book Social Enterprise in Central and Eastern Europe written by Jacques Defourny and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-02-26 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last two decades, the quest for a widely accepted definition of social enterprise has been a central issue in a great number of publications. The main objective of the ICSEM Project (on which this book is based) was to show that the social enterprise field would benefit much more from linking conceptualisation efforts to the huge diversity of social enterprises than from an additional and ambitious attempt at providing an encompassing definition. Starting from a hypothesis that could be termed "the impossibility of a unified definition", the ICSEM research strategy relied on bottom-up approaches to capture the social enterprise phenomenon in its local and national contexts. This strategy made it possible to take into account and give legitimacy to locally embedded approaches, while simultaneously allowing for the identification of major social enterprise models to delineate the field on common grounds at the international level. Social Enterprise in Central and Eastern Europe – the last volume in a series of four ICSEM-based books on social enterprise worldwide — will serve as a key reference and resource for teachers, researchers, students, experts, policy makers, journalists and others who want to acquire a broad understanding of the social enterprise and social entrepreneurship phenomena as they emerge and develop in this region.

Each chapter enhances the understanding of business education in these emerging societies and affords a clearer understanding of the gulf between East and West.Topics in Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS include: international business education in Estoniafrom socialism to capitalism business education and management training in the old and new East Central Europe the International Center for Public Enterprises in Sloveniaimplications for teaching interpersonal skills and introducing international business concepts teaching organization behavior to Eastern European managersa process of adaptation to change Business education will most certainly have a significant impact on the restructuring of the political and social cultures in the region and is, in fact, critical to the ultimate success of democratic free market systems. This book was released on 2014-07-01 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book compares media and political systems in East-Central as well as in Western Europe in order to identify the reasons possibly responsible for the extensive and intensive party control over the media. This phenomenon is widely experienced in many of the former communist countries since the political transformation. The author argues that differences in media freedom and in the politicization of the news media are rooted in differences in party structures between old and new democracies, and, notably, the fact that young parties in the new members of the European Union are short of resources, which makes them more likely to take control of and to exploit media resources.
