This book was released on 2012-08-16 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Better designed and implemented fiscal regimes for oil, gas, and mining can make a substantial contribution to the revenue needs of many developing countries while ensuring an attractive return for investors, according to a new policy paper from the International Monetary Fund. Revenues from extractive industries (EIs) have major macroeconomic implications. The EIs account for over half of government revenues in many petroleum-rich countries, and for over 20 percent in mining countries. About one-third of IMF member countries find (or could find) resource revenues “macro-critical” – especially with large numbers of recent new discoveries and planned oil, gas, and mining developments. IMF policy advice and technical assistance in the field has massively expanded in recent years – driven by demand from member countries and supported by increased donor finance. The paper sets out the analytical framework underpinning, and key elements of, the country-specific advice given. Also available in Arabic: ????? ??????? ?????? ???????? ???????????: ??????? ???????? Book Synopsis Tax Expenditure Reporting and Its Use in Fiscal Management by : International Monetary Fund. Fiscal Affairs Dept.
Download or read book Tax Expenditure Reporting and Its Use in Fiscal Management written by International Monetary Fund. Fiscal Affairs Dept. and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2019-03-27 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This note aims to inform governments on how to account for tax expenditures and use that information in fiscal management. The emphasis is on developing and emerging market economies, where the use of such accounts is in its infancy because of data constraints, insufficient human and financial resources, and weak fiscal institutions. Most developing economies, more-over, do not have tax policy units in their Ministry of Finance to provide analytical support to the govern¬ment and legislature that integrates all revenue policy aspects. As a result, the tax policy framework can be fragmented: line ministries compete in the provision of sectoral tax incentives, but do not report on their cost. The note is organized as follows. The second section outlines the role that tax expenditure measurement and reporting can play in fiscal management. The third section provides a step-by-step approach on how tax expenditure accounts can be built, with emphasis on data, methods and models, and institutional requirements. The section is concerned primarily with the direct cost of tax expenditures—that is, the revenue forgone because of them. It does not deal with their indirect costs, which could include economic efficiency losses and additional tax administration resources, and it does not address assessment of the benefits of tax expenditures. The fourth summarizes the current sta¬tus of tax expenditure reporting in developing econo¬mies, with some reference to advanced economies. The last section concludes.
Book Synopsis Climate of the Middle by : Arjen Siegmann

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Open Access book presents a multidisciplinary perspective to increase our understanding of climate policies that are rooted in the natural moral inclinations of people, families and firms. Which policies prevent a widening gap between higher and lower educated people? Which policy instruments are there, and how could they be used? What is the role of free entrepreneurship? In this book, academics from different fields have brought together their knowledge and expertise to reflect on the following three questions: How are the polarised positions on climate change of different groups related to their moral outlook, world view, tradition, cultural norms and values? What is a good distribution of responsibilities between firms, households and the government relating to climate change? What are possible avenues where the climate policies are a natural extension of moral inclinations of families and firms, such as the stewardship for the natural environment and the climate? This book will be of interest to policy and decision-makers, students of social and behavioural sciences, and those interested climate change policies and how this effects our lives
Book Synopsis U.S. Master Depreciation Guide (2021) by : Cch Tax Law
Download or read book U.S. Master Depreciation Guide (2021) written by Cch Tax Law and published by . This book was released on 2020-12-21 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CCH's U.S. Master Depreciation Guide offers tax and accounting professionals who work with businesses a one-stop resource for guidance in understanding and applying the complex depreciation rules to their fixed assets. This area is especially challenging, because bits and pieces of applicable information must be gathered from a maze of Revenue Procedures, IRS Tables and IRS Regulations. These sources are frequently old and include some materials which may be non-applicable. CCH's U.S. Master Depreciation Guide pulls the pieces together, so practitioners can make sense of all the corresponding information and put the information into practice. The U.S. Master Depreciation Guide includes several useful quick reference tables. These include a list of trucks, SUVs, and vans that are exempt from the luxury car caps because they weigh more than 6,000 pounds, trucks with a bed-length under six feet which are subject to a $25,000 section 179 depreciation cap, a list of states that conform to the federal bonus depreciation, and a comprehensive table of assets and corresponding recovery periods with cross references to the location of the related U.S. Master Depreciation Guide explanation.
