Book Synopsis Karl Fischer Titration by : Eugen Scholz
Download or read book Karl Fischer Titration written by Eugen Scholz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Karl Fischer titration is used in many different ways following its publication in 1935 and further applications are continually being explored. At the present time we are experiencing another phase of expansion, as shown by the development of new titration equipment and new reagents. KF equipment increasingly incorporates microprocessors which enable the course of a titration to be programmed thus sim plifying the titration. Coulometric titrators allow water determinations in the micro gram-range: the KF titration has become a micro-method. The new pyridine-free re agents make its application significantly more pleasant and open up further possibili ties on account of their accuracy. To make the approach to Karl Fischer titrations easier, we have summarized the present knowledge in this monograph and we have complemented it with our own studies and practical experience. As this book should remain "readable", we have tried to keep the fundamentals to a minimum. Historical developments are only mentioned if they seem to be necessary for understanding the KF reaction. The ap plications are described more fully. Specific details which may interest a particular reader can be found in the original publications cited. The referenced literature is in chronological order as the year of publication may also prove informative. Thus, [6902] for example denotes 69 for 1969 being the year of publication and 02 is a non-recurring progressive number. The referenced litera ture includes summaries which we hope will be of help to find the "right" publica tion easily.

Book Synopsis Principles of Physical Optics by : Albie Reid
Download or read book Principles of Physical Optics written by Albie Reid and published by . This book was released on 2019-06-14 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physical optics is a branch of optics that studies optical phenomena, such as polarization, interference, diffraction, dispersion, scattering, etc. All these phenomena cannot be explained by using the approximations of geometric optics. In physical optics, the wave property of light is considered. Light waves are electromagnetic waves. The interaction of light with materials involves the modeling of both electric and magnetic fields of the light wave. When the propagation of light in systems cannot be solved analytically, numerical modeling techniques are used. These include the boundary element method, finite element method and the transmission-line matrix method. This book is a valuable compilation of topics, ranging from the basic to the most complex theories and principles in the field of physical optics. It aims to shed light on some of the unexplored aspects of this field. It aims to serve as a resource guide for students and experts alike and contribute to the growth of the discipline.
Book Synopsis Foundations of Early Childhood by : Penny Mukherji
Download or read book Foundations of Early Childhood written by Penny Mukherji and published by SAGE. This book was released on 2014-01-14 with total page 757 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ′This text will be an invaluable addition to the reading of students and tutors alike. It has been written thoughtfully for students embarking on university courses that study aspects of early childhood education. The introductory chapters give the reader a sense of the thinking and reflection that is helpful for them at the beginning of their studies and a clear focus on the rights of our youngest children roots the text in a sound pedagogical frame. The later chapters broaden the argument and feel very relevant to the current context in their explorations of the policy and practice of EYFS. I would strongly recommend this text.′ -Jo Albin-Clark, Senior Lecturer in Early Years Education, Edge Hill University This book introduces all the most important aspects of early years care and education, and will help you develop the key skills needed to study at degree level. Each chapter introduces major concepts and theories which allow you to explore the foundations of key early childhood issues and apply them in practice. Topics include: Children’s rights The Early Years curriculum How children learn and develop Health and well-being As well as looking at important aspects of study such as: How to search primary sources, such as policy documents and journals How to use your personal experience in studying How to develop critical reading and writing skills With specific learning features designed for different levels of study, this book will be invaluable to students studying at levels 4 and 5 of early childhood degrees and foundation degrees, with features designed to support students as they make the transition to honours level study.
