Book excerpt: One of the most asked questions growing up among friends and family, was the mystery of trying to know the meaning of life and how to fit into this world correctly. So many people want to know their purpose in life. The frustration of not understanding these valid questions can produce an overwhelming situation in our emotions. As I began to learn about Jesus and the Father God, through His Word, I was on my way to understanding myself. The first step was to be born-again. After salvation, I began to search the Word of God for answers. This allowed me to gain understanding of His plan for humanity as well as His plan my personal life. I was overwhelmed with His love for me and started to understand myself with such clarity that I decided to share some these truths with you. I believe you will be blessed with this study.Blessings!Dr. Kevin L. ZadaiFounder and President of Warrior Notes and Warrior Notes School of Ministry
Book Synopsis Lord, Give Me Patience, and Give It to Me Right Now! by : Rev. James W. Moore
Download or read book Lord, Give Me Patience, and Give It to Me Right Now! written by Rev. James W. Moore and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 2010-05-01 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are an impatient people who want everything done in a hurry. But God refuses to be rushed. In the words of author James W. Moore: We love instant results. We want everything done in a hurry these days. We don’t want to wait for anything. We are so different from the earlier generations who ordered things from the Sears catalog and waited with great anticipation for weeks or even months for the items to arrive. We want to pay a little down now (even if we can’t really afford it) and get it today. We are impatient people looking for immediate action and instant gratification, so much so that God’s patient ways sometimes confuse, perplex, and bother us. We are impatient, but God is deliberate, steady, and long-suffering. We look for the speedy way, the shortcut, the instant answer, the immediate solution. But God takes the long way ’round. God refuses to be rushed. The way to become a spiritually mature Christian is to spend so much time with Christ that we begin to think and act like him, to spend so much time with him that we take on what the apostle Paul called “the mind of Christ.” It just takes time and effort and commitment. There are no easy, instant solutions. What we need to remember is that the things that matter most take time, effort, commitment, discipline, lots of practice, lots of hard work . . . and lots of patience. Working chapter titles include, “Lord, Give Me Patience, and Give it to Me Right Now”; “Lord, Give Me Perseverance”; “ Lord, Give Me Faith”; “Lord, Give Me Forgiveness”; “Lord, Give Me Love”; “Lord, Give Me Childlikeness”; “Lord, Give Me Life”; “Lord, Give Me Grace”; and others. This book includes twelve chapters and a discussion guide.
Download or read book Lord Change Me written by James MacDonald and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2012-05-01 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you truly serious about allowing the power of God to transform your life? If you are, then prepare yourself for an incredible, life-changing experience. Change is difficult, but it's made even harder without practical guidance on how to do it. You will find that guidance in Lord, Change Me Now. James MacDonald is serious about the business of change according to God's Word. While many tell us that we should change and be more like Christ, MacDonald actually teaches us how to do it. Lord, Change Me Now is split into three sections as the model for approaching change: The Preparation for Change: choosing the right method and partnering with God to select the areas in need of change in your life. The Process of Change: exploring the biblical method of saying 'no' to sinful patterns and 'yes' to the things God desires for you. The Power to Change: explaining how to experience the power of God personally and continuously. This is a book about a different you. There are no warm fuzzies within these pages. Rather, MacDonald is a direct, to-the-point pastor with a heart for seeing lives completely transformed by the truth of the Gospel. If you're serious about changing your life, this book is just what you need.

Book Synopsis Gospel-Centered Discipleship by : Jonathan K. Dodson
Download or read book Gospel-Centered Discipleship written by Jonathan K. Dodson and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2012-03-31 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reflecting on the practice of disciple making in young adult, college, graduate, and local church contexts, Jonathan Dodson has discerned some common pitfalls. For many, discipleship is reduced to a form of religious performance before God. For others, it devolves into spiritual license and a loose adherence to spiritual facts. Both approaches distort biblical motivations for Christian obedience and are in need of reform. By explaining various motivations for discipleship, Dodson charts a biblically faithful, grace-driven alternative. Additionally, he provides a practical model for creating gospel-centered discipleship groups—small, reproducible, missional, gender-specific groups of believers that fight for faith together. This book blends both theology and practice to inspire and equip Christians to effectively fight sin, keep Jesus central, and make gospel-centered discipleship a way of life. Both new and growing Christians will learn to trust the gospel in community as they fight together for holiness as well as how to start gospel-centered community groups in any local church.
Book Synopsis Why Me, Lord? by : William A. Carter
Download or read book Why Me, Lord? written by William A. Carter and published by Jabberwocky Books. This book was released on 2007 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why Me, Lord? is a firsthand account by a veteran of one of the most tragic chapters in World War II naval history, the infamous PQ 17 convoy across the North Atlantic to north Russia in the summer of 1942. 35 merchant ships carried war materiel to support the Soviet defense against invading Nazi armies before the U.S. and Great Britain opened a second front with the invasion of North Africa late in 1942. After the convoy was abandoned by its American and British naval escort vessels in U-boat-infested waters, 24 of its 35 merchant ships were lost to enemy attack. The author, then a young U.S. Naval officer commanded a Navy Armed Guard contingent aboard the American freighter, S.S. Ironclad, and was awarded the Silver Star for valor as a result of his leadership during combat with attacking German aircraft. He tells the story of his experiences in vivid detail and paints a memorable portrait of both the wartime navy and Soviet Russia's White Sea ports. The book also details the return voyage aboard the U.S. liberty ship, S.S. Richard Bland, which, if anything, was even more harrowing. The Bland was sunk off Iceland after being torpedoed three times north of the Arctic Circle, with its surviving crew members, including the author, being forced into lifeboats in frigid North Atlantic waters. Written more than 60 years after the events it describes, "Why Me, Lord?" is one of the very few, and quite possibly the last, firsthand accounts of this important, though little known, chapters of World War II naval history.

Book Synopsis Lord, Help Me Know You by : Shane Walsh
Download or read book Lord, Help Me Know You written by Shane Walsh and published by Inspirelife Pub. This book was released on 2009-10-01 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For many Christians today, faithfully serving the Lord feels more like a burden than a blessing. They attend church regularly and do everything they are "supposed" to do yet they struggle with the same issues and sins for years and never really mature in Christ. They try their best to serve God but often times the walk proves too burdensome and they leave the body of Christ altogether. The simple truth is that many Christians never take the right first step with Christ. Sometimes we focus so quickly on doing Christian things that we miss the purest intent of a walk with Christ; simply coming to know Him. After all, how can you love someone you don't know and how can you fully give yourself to serving someone you don't love? This book tells the story of one such journey. It is the inspiring story of one man's pursuit to know Christ and Christ's faithful response to his prayer, "Lord, help me know you." It is a story of redemption, restoration, and revelation.Through this story you will see that Christ desires to personally reveal Himself to all of us. You will find the key to a life of faithful service for Him and how to truly carry your cross with joy and gladness. You will understand why Jesus says, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light."If you are one of those Christians struggling to faithfully serve the Lord this book will demonstrate one thing to you: He wants you to know Him more than He wants you to serve Him.
