But in our haste we often make decisions to fix problems and persons, forgetting that we are not called to fix but rather to reconcile. In this wide-ranging collection of essays we explore what it might look like if we were to live in the world first with the purpose of reconciling and then allow that vision to guide our actions. Each essay engages with reconciliation in different contexts, providing meaningful and potentially transformative insights that will lead the reader to more faithful lives and activities. The essays are not filled with theoretical reflections but with hard-earned wisdom from proven thinkers, practitioners, and innovators.

Book excerpt: Experience Paul's world-changing writings in the full, chronological context of his life story--from Pharisee and persecutor of the church to the most influential defender of the gospel of Jesus Christ. "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ..." So goes Paul's typical introduction, a modest title for one of Christianity's most authoritative figures. Unique among the apostles, Paul was well-educated and well-respected in the Jewish community of the day. His story is one of dramatic conversion and passionate instruction. His life's work was becoming a servant of Jesus Christ. From pastor and teacher Dr. John MacArthur, One Faithful Life is the first-of-its-kind harmony of Paul's message and life. As with One Perfect Life--which weaved the Gospels into the seamless narrative of Jesus' life--One Faithful Life walks us chronologically through the biblical ministry of Paul, tying together background information from the Gospels, the book of Acts, and Paul's epistles to the growing movement of Christ-followers. In this comprehensive storyline of the Apostle Paul's life, you'll find: Verse-by-verse explanations and section introductions from one of the most respected pastor-teachers of our time Introductory commentary of the major themes and purpose of each of Paul's letters A fresh perspective on the enduring truths of the gospel message

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered where you are in life? You realize that there is more to life than what meets the eye, and yet you find that you are not where you want to be. Realizing and acknowledging your true reflection in the mirror can be either a beautiful or a devastating experience, depending upon one's perspective. However, it takes courage to confront the issues and responsibilities of oneself while not casting the blame onto others because of our own ignorance and lack of knowledge. One can go through life wondering and searching, trying to understand how to get to that place. Sometimes it appears as though one is going around in circles trying to understand how we fit into this world. What is my real purpose for being on this earth? Well, the Word of God tells us that God has predestined our lives before the foundations of the world. Then the question remains of how do we get to the place that God has purposed for each of us in this preordained plan?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this readable and enlightening book (based on his 2008 Didsbury Lectures) Kent Brower opens up Paul's theology of holy-living-as-community in the power of the Spirit. At the heart of Paul's practical theology is God's call of Israel to be holy as God is holy. But his conviction is that the call to be God's holy people now encompasses all, Jews and Gentiles, who follow Jesus the Messiah. This new community of God is to embody the holiness of God wherever they live just as Israel was to embody it. This is a central theological concern in all of Paul's epistles. His ethics are always theological ethics; his theology is always practical theology. 'Abreast of other scholarly studies, and written in a very accessible style, this engaging book makes a contribution in inverse relation to its modest size.' Larry Hurtado, Professor of New Testament Language, Literature and Theology, University of Edinburgh

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everything God has done and will do is extravagant and has great purpose. All His actions have a planned objective, even the breath He breathes and the gifts He gives. God the Father breathed granting life to the created man. God the Son breathed, and man now supernaturally received the infilling of the Holy Spirit. God the Holy Spirit breathed fulfilling the promise of God’s manifested power and presence upon and in believers. When the Godhead breathes it brings life, salvation, and power. God breathing illuminates the purpose and giftings given to His creation. The trinity Godhead distributes gifts and endowments to the believer for the growth and increase of the body of Christ. The attributes and gifts of the Godhead are purposed and given to benefit the body while empowering each believer to be more than conquerors. When God Breathes details the design and purpose for each of the Godhead breathing and describes the gifts given by each. The supernatural gifts of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this life-study, Witness Lee opens up Paul’s second Epistle to the Corinthians, a book on the new covenant ministry and its ministers. The first Epistle to the Corinthians was the apostle’s argument, an argument that defeated and subdued the distracted and confused Corinthians. Now, the second Epistle brought them back into the experience of Christ, who was the subject of his argument in the first Epistle. Hence, the second Epistle is more experiential, more subjective, and deeper than the first. In the first, Christ, the Spirit with our spirit, the church, and the gifts are covered as the major subjects. In the second, Christ, the Spirit with our spirit, and the church are developed further, but the gifts are not even mentioned. The gifts are replaced in this book by the ministry, which is constituted with, and produced and formed by, the experiences of the riches of Christ gained through sufferings, consuming pressures, and the killing work of the cross. This Epistle gives us a pattern, an example, of how the killing of the cross works, how Christ is wrought into our being, and how we become the expression of Christ. These processes constitute the ministers of Christ and produce the ministry for God’s new covenant.
