In a memoir that blends humor and engaging charm with unflinching frankness, Monroe-Kane gives his testimony of mental illness, drug abuse, faith, and love.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does it mean to be "mad" in contemporary American society? How do we categorize people's reactions to extreme pressures, trauma, loneliness and serious mental illness? Importantly--who gets to determine these classifications, and why? This book seeks to answer these questions through studying an increasingly popular media genre--memoirs of people with mental illnesses. Memoirs, like the ones examined in this book, often respond to stigmatizing tropes about "the mad" in popular culture and engage with concepts in mental health activism and research. This study breaks new academic ground and argues that the featured texts rethink the possibilities of community building and stigma politics. Drawing on literary analysis and sociological concepts, it understands these memoirs as complex, at times even contradictory, approaches to activism.

Book excerpt: -Encounter with the apostle Peter in Heaven- Then Jesus said to Peter, "Peter, open your heart and show Sarah." I didn't understand what Jesus meant by that. But I found myself asking Peter, "Peter, when you were imprisoned and chained between two prison guards, how were you able to sleep not knowing when they will execute you?" Peter said, "The thought of dying tomorrow really brought me joy." As he spoke these words, I was able to clearly understand what he was saying. Peter had followed Jesus for three years, has witnessed the death and resurrection and even the ascension of Jesus! It was clear to me that Peter was not afraid of death because then he would be with Jesus forever in Heaven. Although it was a simple truth, it shocked me because I had never regarded death as a joyful thing in the past. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's-Romans 14:8

Book excerpt: The Lithium Journals: A Collection of Thoughts on Reality is an autobiographical self help piece of literature based in spirituality, humor, perseverance, and supportive texts which is sure to entertain and enlighten. It was written by Zachary Coley, a 32 year old Georgia native diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and Crohn's disease. He survived a near fatal Jeep wreck in 2007 where he encountered God after incurring a traumatic brain injury in that accident. This book is comprised of around 80 different topics divided into 10 chapters, and he has written it to be read quickly and perhaps not even straight through but rather allowing the reader to skip around to parts they need as they see fit. This book includes short stories on top of the self help dialogues, poetry, recipes, jokes, a section on gardening, and a biblical essay. This book is based on Zachary's experiences and explains how he has managed life, as he only desires to share some of the wisdom he has gained through a challenging life. The difference between this book and other self help books is that there is plenty of entertaining reading which intertwines within the text. There is a fine line between a book being to too long and wordy or it becoming succinct and able to hold one's attention. I hope you enjoy reading this piece of literature, and I humbly ask you to recommend it to your friends and family. I owe the fact that I was even able to finish it to God and Jesus Christ, along with all those who have supported me throughout my tumultuous life.

Book excerpt: Finalist Independent Author Network Book Award Would you forsake your mother to save the woman you loved? Season Scrimshaw isn't selling the land her parents left her when they died, not even to the gorgeous Rann Brogan who saved her life in the forest. Especially not after she finds out he was in the woods surveying her property. Rann's mother, Charlotte, owns a large land development company. She wants Season’s property to put up a strip of luxurious, lakefront condos and Charlotte always gets what she wants. She sends Rann on a mission to seal the deal. To say Rann and his mother have had a normal mother/son relationship would be a stretch…a big stretch, but he’s always done her bidding. This time it’s different. Rann hasn’t been able to get the beautiful Season out of his mind. While on his mission to secure the property, he realizes how much Season loves the land, and…he realizes somewhere along the line, Season has stolen his heart. He discovers his mother will go to any length to get what she wants…including murder. Lives spiral out of control, secrets and lies take center stage. Rann is forced to choose between his mother and the woman he loves. And he’s forced to become as dangerous and as lethal as Charlotte. Love a lot of thriller with your romance? Love a lot romance with your thriller? How about suspense, betrayal and murder? If so, then Season, Unforgettable is the book for you. *A stand-alone Contemporary Romantic Suspense What Reviewers Are Saying "WOW! Diablo has a great new hit here! You will enjoy this from beginning to end. This is my honest opinion: I loved this story and would have loved for it to just kept going. I'm sure that everyone has read a book that they could have enjoyed it no matter how long it was. This is one of those books." Kayla Sue, Amazon, 5 stars, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Keta Diablo has timed each piece of her romantic puzzle to perfection. As they begin to fall into place, I found myself lost in the entanglements of two worlds colliding, while being warped by evil. Hang on tight; this ride is full of twists, turns and the power of this author's imagination. I can definitely say, I never thought this tale would unfold the way it did, no cookie cutter writing from this author!" Tome Tender, 5 Stars, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "When disaster strikes, it hits hard and no character sees it coming. The antagonist in the story, sadly for the main characters, is as smart as they are bad, so the plan nearly succeeds far too well. I liked the story very much, enjoyed the ending, and I hope the author does another story in this world with the Matt and Bernadette's story." The Leisure Zone, 4.5 Stars, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I thought it was going to be a normal chase through fall in love, fight with mom, kind of story, but I was pleasantly surprised when the story changed. Loved the twist as it was quite dark, and unexpected, but worked beautifully for the story. Don't want to give away too much for those of you yet to read the book. I enjoyed it." Cashmere, 5 Stars, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book excerpt: Wild stories featuring favorite characters from the Mongo Mysteries, including Mongo’s brother, Garth Frederickson, and ex–CIA agent/Vietnam vet Veil Kendry. Three very different sleuths—an ex–NYPD cop, a psychic painter and vigilante, and a former priest—handle unusual cases in this collection from the “unlimited imagination” of George C. Chesbro, creator of the one-of-a-kind dwarf detective, Mongo the Magnificent (Publishers Weekly). When a mad scientist injected him with a rare drug, former policeman Garth Frederickson—brother of Dr. Robert Fredrickson, aka Mongo—developed the power to sense the often-malevolent feelings of those around him . . . Veil Kendry, ex–CIA agent, Vietnam War veteran, and devoted martial arts instructor, almost died at birth. The damage left him with powerful dreams that have made him a successful abstract painter—and a dangerous vigilante . . . Brendan Furie was once a priest who carried a Bible, but after a mishandled exorcism forced him out of the church, he became a PI armed with a gun . . . In Lone Wolves, these unconventional antiheroes take on deadly militias, doomsday cults, East German secret police, alien abductions, telepathy experiments, Chinese street gangs, ghosts, demonic possessions, and more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Experiment at Philadelphia Did Einstein discover God? If God created all things, then who Created God? What Was and Happened Before the Big-Bang. The Philadelphia Experiment was Einsteins experiment in which he had not only discovered, in 1943, the way to make things invisible and transport them at great speeds but also positively proven scientifically, physically, and spiritually that the Almighty God exists! He had literally discovered God! That question, is there a god? Thats been going through peoples minds for so long, was discussed on the street corner, talked about on the porch on a hot summers night, and is now a proven fact. Yes, there is a god! Did Einstein in the Philadelphia Experiment make contact with UFO beings, who gave him advance knowledge of all things, which Einstein later destroyed, fearing what the world would do with that knowledge? Are the first fourteen chapters of this book about the advance knowledge Einstein received? Does it reveal the deepest, darkest secrets of God and Satan and how the universe works? Does it answer these questions? Many have asked since the beginning of the world: Which is known as the mystery of God? Why am I here? Whats the true meaning of life? How was everything created? Who are God and the devil? If God created all, who created God? If he is the first in creation, where and how did he come into existence? Why does God allow evil in the world? Why do good things happen to bad people and bad things to good people? Whyif we all came from Adam and Eve, who were Jewishare there Gentiles? Are Gentiles children of devils? Is that why the Jews are Gods chosen race? Why in the Garden of Eden was the knowledge of good on the tree forbidden? How old is the earth? Why is God known as the Trinity? Why have religions, down through the ages, done such evil? What, when, and how did the big bang start? What happened to Satan? Who is he really, and what did he do in the past? What are his beliefs and ways? What is he and God literally made of? What is the meaning of the great pyramids and the sphinx? Is there scientific proof that God exists? Read this whole book for the answers to all these tough questions, and be sure to read the introduction first before reading the rest of this book. It will help you better understand this whole book.

Book excerpt: Lithium batteries may hold the key to an environmentally sustainable, oil-independent future. From electric cars to a "smart" power grid that can actually store electricity, letting us harness the powers of the sun and the wind and use them when we need them, lithium—a metal half as dense as water, found primarily in some of the most uninhabitable places on earth—has the potential to set us on a path toward a low-carbon energy economy. In Bottled Lightning, the science reporter Seth Fletcher takes us on a fascinating journey, from the salt flats of Bolivia to the labs of MIT and Stanford, from the turmoil at GM to cutting-edge lithium-ion battery start-ups, introducing us to the key players and ideas in an industry with the power to reshape the world. Lithium is the thread that ties together many key stories of our time: the environmental movement; the American auto industry, staking its revival on the electrification of cars and trucks; the struggle between first-world countries in need of natural resources and the impoverished countries where those resources are found; and the overwhelming popularity of the portable, Internet-connected gadgets that are changing the way we communicate. With nearly limitless possibilities, the promise of lithium offers new hope to a foundering American economy desperately searching for a green-tech boom to revive it.
