A obra trata, portanto, do discurso político, de sua capacidade de persuasão e de alienação, alertando a sociedade sobre os discursos que nos parecem ser verdadeiros, porém são mitos construídos por artesãos hábeis e matreiros, como afirmou Ernst Cassirer.
