Time equals life, and wasting your time is wasting your life. if you spend one hour on someone or something, you are giving away a piece of your life to that someone or something. Therefore you have to be careful to whom or where you away your life. if you are careful with time, time slips away like sand in your fist. Letting time slip away is letting life slip away. Like time and tide, life too waits for none. Life is Precious, therefore time is precious.

Despite this, there exists a long-felt lack of research tools for English first-language speakers who wish to access the Qur'an in the original Arabic. The "Dictionary of Qur'anic Usage" is the first comprehensive, fully-researched and contextualised Arabic-English dictionary of Qur'anic usage, compiled in accordance with modern lexicographical methods by scholars who have a lifelong immersion in Qur'anic Studies. Based on Classical Arabic dictionaries and Qur'an commentaries, this work also emphasises the role of context in determining the meaning-scatter of each vocabulary item. Illustrative examples from Qur'anic verses are provided in support of the definitions given for each context in which a particular word occurs, with cross-references to other usages. Frequently occurring grammatical particles are likewise thoroughly explained, insofar as they are used in conveying various nuances of meaning in the text.

This book was released on 1997-01-01 with total page 976 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Al-Qur'an, the Guidance for mankind, is a unique translation of the Holy Qur'an in contemporary American English. It includes the Biography of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, his mission as a Prophet, his ranking as in the human history. Text is paragraphed by theme and theme is written in the margins on each page for easy reference. Its features include - (1) Field Testing the Communication of Divine Message: The unique feature of this translation is its field testing for over 3 1/2 years to improve the communication and understanding of the Divine Message. Translation passages were given to the New Muslim and Non-Muslim high school and college students for reading under the supervision of various Ulema (scholars). After reading, the person was asked to explain as to what he/she understood from the passage. If his/her understanding was the same as is in the Arabic Text of the Holy Qur'an then we concluded that we have been successful in conveying the Divine Message properly. If his/her understanding was different than what the Qur'anic verses were stating, we kept on rewording the translation until those verses were understood properly. It was tremendous patience on part of the participants. May Allah reward them all. (2) Simplicity: In this translation Simple Language and Direct Approach is used for appealing to the common sense of scholars and common people. (3) Understandability: There are no foot notes to refer and no commentary or lengthy explanations to read. All necessary explanations have been incorporated right there in the text with italic type setting to differentiate from the translation of the meanings of Qur'anic Arabic Text. (4) Outline of Pertinent Information: Before the start of each Srah, information relating to its Period of Revelation, Major Issues, Divine Laws and Guidance has been presented as an outline. Then a summary of the preceding events has been tabulated for the reader to understand the histo! rical background to grasp the full meaning of the Divine Message. (5) Reviews, Input and Approvals: This project was started in 1991 and initial draft completed in 1994. Then the Translation was sent to different Ulema (Scholars) in Town and throughout United States for their review and input. After their reviews and input it was sent to Jme Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt, Ummal Qur in Saudi Arabia and International Islamic University in Pakistan for their review, input and approval. This translation was published after their reviews and approvals.

Shouldn't people with deep spiritual roots be less vulnerable to emotional suffering? Such an enigma stands at the center of this book, but the enigma turns out to be more apparent than real. The overt religiosity so characteristic of modern American society ironically serves to foster the anxiety epidemic by locking people into a disenchanted secular mindset, leaving them cut off from the deep spiritual resources they so desperately need in the face of mounting anxiety. Based on the author's own journey through the darkness of anxiety in conversation with the psychology of Carl Jung, this book argues that transcending religious identity and submitting to the greater wisdom of the cosmic story holds a powerful key to resolving anxiety and creating a more just and sustainable world. Surprisingly, the Islamic tradition may provide one of the best models for how to accomplish this.

The English translation of the Holy Quran with extensive explanatory footnotes, by Maulana Muhammad Ali (d. 1951), was first published in 1917. Due to changes in the usage and teaching of English in the second half of the twentieth century, such a reader today is much less familiar with certain forms and styles of literary expression used in the translation than was the case with previous generations. To bring the language closer to the general readership, it became necessary to replace some expressions by more modern forms. This has been my aim in producing the present updated version of the translation.

Book excerpt: What made three young men cross the line of no return? Was it a curse? Some people would say, Is this a generational curse? This story is about three young men in different cities, venturing down the same path, eventually receiving many years in the California State Penitentiary. All three carry the same last name, Patterson, and although they were brought up in the church, all three truly found God at last; when He demanded their undivided attention behind prison walls. They learned to have faith that only God could open the doors of freedom, giving them a second chance at life. They prayed for a new beginning, seeking an appeal to reduce their time. The three young men have different stories, but the same plight. Jam, Briddle, Cooter and their comrades.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An American Family: Four Centuries. Two Continents By: S. Frederick Starr This book recounts the history of an American family that was formed in the 1930s by the marriage of seeming opposites from the two sides of the ethnic divide that separated descendants of earlier Anglo-Saxon and German settlers from the millions of newcomers from Central Europe and Italy who arrived after 1900. Its immediate geographical focus is the American Midwest, the areas surrounding Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio. Its deeper geography extends to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Lancastershire and Cumbria in northern England and Southampton on England’s south coast, to the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany, to St. Petersburg in Russia, and to Austria, Budapest and the distant eastern lands of Hungary. Religiously, it embraces Catholics, Jews. The Church of England, Quakers, Methodists, and Unitarians. And with respect to professions, it includes farmers, home-makers, preachers, artists, shop-keepers, photographers, lawyers, educators, housemaids, judges, scholars, and businessmen. Finally, this is a book about change. One of the families involved changed its religion three times and the other changed its name three times. Yet there are also continuities aplenty, and most notably in the qualities of seriousness, ambition, tenacity, and commitment to family that prevail throughout.

An awkward first date with a quantum physicist ends not with a goodnight kiss but a science experiment gone wrong that send them both hurling back in time. Stranded in the past with only a fading hope that she’ll ever make it home, Kate takes a job as a maid to pass the time and ends up with more than she bargained for. Brandon Ryder, the Earl of Harrowby, is a far cry from any man the 21st century had ever produced. He’s commanding, austere, aristocratic, true, but he’s also smart, caring, funny and … magnificent. To Kate, who’d never imagined all those qualities could exist in a single man, his appeal is undeniable. Irresistible. Nothing but time can tear them apart Brand has spent a lifetime bound by the rules of Society and one of those rules is that a gentleman doesn’t trifle with the help. However, Kate Kallastad is no ordinary employee. His lovely new maid challenges him at every turn, astounding him with her forthright manner, plain speech and by her astonishing audacity to treat him not as an Earl of the realm... but as a mere mortal man. Tragedy forces Kate to make a decision that impacts both of their lives. When the time comes for Brand to make a choice of his own, where will time and love lead him?
