Book excerpt: Ces dernières années les avancées en matière de génomique ont permis de mettre en exergue l'importance des microbiotes humains et notamment du microbiote intestinal. Les maladies parodontales, motif fréquent de consultation chez nos patients, sont elles-mêmes associées à un désordre du microbiote parodontal. De manière intéressante de nombreuses pathologies systémiques en lien avec la parodontite sont également associées à une dysbiose intestinale. Les MICI sont un exemple particulièrement éloquent du lien entre cette dysbiose intestinale et pathologies générales. Au travers de l'exemple particulier du lien entre MICI et parodontites nous tenterons donc, via ce travail, de faire émerger l'hypothèse que le traitement non chirurgical des parodontopathies (débridement infragingival) pourrait améliorer la symptomatologie des MICI sous tendant donc que les microbiotes oraux et intestinaux pourraient être interconnectés. Pour ce faire nous procèderons à une revue de la littérature attenante au sujet ainsi qu'à une proposition de protocole clinique.
