Book excerpt: "Taking up the reading of a poignant passage of scriptures as analytical wedge, this work is an impressive study of the complexity of the history of African American identity formation and orientation to the world."--Vincent L. Wimbush, author of The Bible and African Americans: A Brief History "Sound, theoretically sophisticated, and yields brilliant readings of the text, The Ethiopian Prophecy in Black American Letters will stand the test of time."--Katherine Clay Bassard, author of Transforming Scriptures: African American Women Writers and the Bible For centuries, Psalm 68:31 "Princes shall come forth out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch forth her hands unto God," also known as the Ethiopian prophecy, has served as a pivotal and seminal text for those of African descent in the Americas. Originally, it was taken to mean that the slavery of African Americans was akin to the slavery of the Hebrews in Egypt, and thus it became an articulation of the emancipation struggle. However, it has also been used as an impetus for missionary work in Africa, as an inspirational backbone for the civil rights movement, and as a call for a separate black identity during the twentieth century. Utilizing examples from Richard Allen, Maria W. Stewart, Kate Drumgoold, Phillis Wheatley, Martin Delany, W.E.B. DuBois, Marcus Garvey, and Ralph Ellison, Kay reveals the wide variety of ways this verse has been interpreted and conceptualized in African American history and letters for more than two hundred years. Roy Kay teaches college preparatory English at DeLaSalle High School in Minnesota. He was assistant professor at the University of Saint Thomas, Macalester College, and the University of Utah. Book excerpt: Never previously successfully performed, Prophetic Letters investigates support for the Pre-Wrath Rapture using simple mathematical correlations referencing the book of Daniel. The interpretative method fully explained includes eleven graphic charts and a summary table. Evidence supports actual dates of completed major biblical events identifying the number of days between their occurrences. The evidence mathematically proves the Scriptures to those with doubt, and provides the believer with evidence for the truth of the Bible to prove to others. Prophetic Letters finds support for Pre-Wrath, and noticeably refines that presented by Marvin Rosenthal and Robert Van Kampen—yet strengthens the entire case. To say the ideas presented are new is an understatement, and I believe you will be convinced, and astounded in the detail and simplicity used to prove the arguments. Written to the Christian to challenge and refine their understanding of the biblical end times, and to the non-Christian to challenge their refusal to turn to God. Prophetic Letters begins with the journey of the author as he searched for an appropriate, and believable, understanding of the biblical end times. After decades of frustration of the fault exhibited in Pre-Tribulation, he began a study to resolve—with proof—this personal dilemma. With over ten years of thought and study, this book is that result. Dyuran provides a list of guidelines used for this prophetic study, some which are obvious, and some that will absolutely change how you will ever study Bible prophecy again. Using these guidelines, he then investigates each chapter of Daniel with a new look at the shabua (termed “weeks” in the KJV of Daniel) and reveals some astounding results. His investigation of shabua units, some that are different from the standard 7 years per “week,” amazingly ties to the exact number of days between major prophetic biblical events. For reasons unknown, other prophetic interpreters have never made this connection in prophecy. Indeed, other end time interpretations do not associate the detail of prophetic connections as found in Prophetic Letters. These findings include the dates for the birth and baptism of Christ, the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., and the exact dates surrounding the 7th Beast Empire—which is not the future Beast Empire or that commonly associated with the Antichrist. Prophetic Letters details two primary timelines that support each other meeting at the crucifixion of Christ, and account for all the days and prophetic events in Daniel. Prophetic Letters accepts the challenge of the Scriptures in Daniel 9:25 “Know therefore and understand…”

Book excerpt: Every adult should read this book. It takes the enigmatic letters that Nostradamus wrote, explaining The Prophecies, and transforms them into a very understandable explanation of warning that must be known, if not heeded. Written in Nostradamus' voice, the author shows that Nostradamus was doing the bidding of Jesus Christ. This book makes some bold claims, based on the author's research and findings found detailed in another publication. The how-to's and why's will not be found in this book; but, enough is provided before the letters are presented that makes it become certainly a viable interpretations of Nostradamus' actual text. The text of Nostradamus is separated from the text of the author, by bold type, which makes seeing Nostradamus' text appear when you hold the book at arm's length. At first, the bold type seems unlikely to yield the author's additional text, but after rereading (sometimes more than once) it becomes clearer how simple combinations of words can have multiple meanings.

Book excerpt: We must follow the direction of Jesus Christ who said,"Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, for they are they which testify of me," (John 5:39). Jesus knew the Scriptures must be searched in order to find the hidden things of God. The writings of Moses and other prophets came together in 1611 A.D. in the center of the world, in London, England under the guidance of King James 1st. The words of the New Testament were also directed by the Lord God, and the OLD and the NEW Testaments together would become 1 Bible with 66 books. The most mysterious verse of Scripture in the entire Bible is found in Revelation 13:18, where mankind has sought out its meaning since 1611 A.D. This verse of Scripture has been a mystery to every Biblical student since it was first written in 96 A.D. Its meaning is now explained in the book, "Letters From God", and it will bring the truth of this Scripture to the minds of Spiritual men. Soon the antichrist will appear on the earth, where he will fight with the saints of God and prevail against them, (Daniel 7:25). He will have 42 months in which to do this. He will change laws and times, and will force everyone in the world to receive the Mark Of The Beast, and he will sit on a throne in Jerusalem, claiming that he is God. Satan has taken many secret steps to arrange for himself to be recognized as an equal to Jesus Christ, which is something he can never be. The secret things Satan has done to prepare for his entry into the world as the antichrist are listed in this book, and will astound those who have been watching for his emergence. He will come from the most unexpected place, carrying out the most secret underhanded plot ever in the history of the world. The antichrist is the Great Deceiver and he will deceive many in the span of 42 months before he is defeated by Jesus Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the 1990s there has been an emphasis on the study of ancient Israelite prophecy in its ancient Near East context. Prophecy in the Ancient Near East is the first book-length study that compares prophecy in the ancient Near East by focusing on texts from Mari, the Neo-Assyrian State Archives, and the Hebrew Bible. The author analyzes prophecy in each culture independently before comparisons are made. This method demonstrates how prophecy is a part of the wider system of divination, but also shows where scholarship has unduly imported concepts found in one corpus to the other two. This method, for example, calls into question the supposed link between music and prophecy from the Hebrew Bible to the ancient Near East. This work provides an up-to-date analysis of ancient Near Eastern, including Israelite and Judean, prophecy to scholars and students alike. "I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, and I can highly recommend it to anyone interested in prophecy in Israel and the ancient Near East." Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer, University of Aberdeen, Review of Biblical Literature "The content of Jonathan Stökl’s book...testifies to the value of the book for the studies of prophecy in the ancient Near East." Wojciech Pikor, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, The Biblical Annals
