Book excerpt: "How MUCH is the crazy-much love?" This simple question is answered as two parents recount the journey of adopting their daughter and the many milestone moments that follow. From the child's first bath and first time riding a tricycle, all the way to her boarding that big yellow bus, the crazy-much love grows SO MUCH that it spills out the windows and busts down the doors. A warm, lyrical celebration of the deep love parents hold for their children, and a comforting message for kids about how there can be only one special YOU.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Omar Saif Ghobash was born in 1971 in the United Arab Emirates -- the same year the country was founded -- to an Arab father and a Russian mother. After a traumatizing experience losing his father to a violent attack in 1977, when he was only six years old, Ghobash began to realize the severe violence that surrounded him in his home country. As he grew older, eventually being appointed as the UAE Ambassador to Russia in 2008, he began to reflect on what it means to be a Muslim, establishing a moral foundation rooted in the belief of the hard grind that is the crux of spiritual and practical living. This book is the result of the personal exploration Ghobash went through in the years after his father's death. The new generation of Muslims is tomorrow's leadership, and yet many are vulnerable to taking the violent shortcut to paradise and ignoring the traditions and foundations of Islam. The burning question, Ghobash argues, is how moderate Muslims will unite and find a voice that is true to Islam while actively and productively engaging in the modern world. Letters to a Young Muslim will explore how Arabs can provide themselves, their children, and their youth with a better chance of prosperity and peace in a globalized world, while attempting to explain the history and complications of the modern-day Arab landscape and how the younger generation can solve problems with extremists internally, contributing to overall world peace.

Peterson's answer to this most difficult of questions uniquely combines the hard-won truths of ancient tradition with the stunning revelations of cutting-edge scientific research. Humorous, surprising and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street. What does the nervous system of the lowly lobster have to tell us about standing up straight (with our shoulders back) and about success in life? Why did ancient Egyptians worship the capacity to pay careful attention as the highest of gods? What dreadful paths do people tread when they become resentful, arrogant and vengeful? Dr. Peterson journeys broadly, discussing discipline, freedom, adventure and responsibility, distilling the world's wisdom into 12 practical and profound rules for life. 12 Rules for Life shatters the modern commonplaces of science, faith and human nature, while transforming and ennobling the mind and spirit of its readers.

Book excerpt: Description Everything that you read in this book is a moment in my life, as you are probably familier with the facts that we all have our ups and downs as our lives are a constant chain of experiences, there are times when we can wonder if it is worth carrying on due to relationship break ups, lack of self worth or even just the our general day to day living, and i hope that my experiences good or bad may help or guide or even give other people a some hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel, this book shall go through experiences that at some point we can all relate to you, rejection, depression, relationship difficulties loss of loved ones, children, and also the love that we often hold for our families, but even the deceipt and uncaring way that some parents and grandparents etc can also deliver, and so i hope and pray that you have had fewer of these times than me as all poems in this book are of situations that i have been in, love that i had and lost, children that i bore and the ones i did not bare, and alsodifficulties of losing my children my home etc and most important of how i got through all of this as there are words of comfort and support.i have used poetry for the last 17 years to express my anger i found that it helped me to write everything down what i was feeling rather than punching out or harming myself, and the fact that i then made it into poems gave me a great sense of worth and admiration for myself, and the fact now that i hope it shall help others is the biggest reward i could get which makes all my experiences a little more worth while these poems are about me and my journey into adult life they helped me through all the mental health issues which have allowed me to be still standing today, i hope that they shall help and inspire you too in your journey. About the AuthorMy name is Lisa Diallo and I was born in Oldham just on the outskirts of Manchester in 1972. I am at present living in Lincoln with my husband to be and my 4 children. I started writing poetry as a release and comfort without even realising I could inspire other people. Most of my later years have been spent looking after and raising my 4 children, who suffer with a.d.h.d. and autism, whilst still trying to deal with my own disorders: avoidance disorder and borderline personality disorder. I have always had a love of writing and plan to continue to write and I hope this book may inspire and offer words of comfort to many others, and that that shall make all their experiences that little more worthwhile.

Book excerpt: A father is forced to choose between two sons, a decision that haunts the family decades later Haim Kalinsky lies in an Israeli hospital, terminal lung cancer about to cut his life short. Across the street stands his son Daniel, unable to visit his dying father because of an excruciating decision Haim made during the Second World War. When the Nazis marched into Warsaw, Haim awaited the inevitable. After his wife was deported, the German soldiers returned, sending Haim and his two sons, Daniel and Shmuel, to one of the extermination camps. It was there that Haim was confronted with the unanswerable question by one of the camp guards as they disembarked from the trains: Which son will you choose to live? With only a moment to decide, Haim instinctively pulled Shmuel to him, condemning Daniel to die. Decades later, it is Daniel who has survived the brutality of the camps and Shmuel who has perished. Strangers to each other, Daniel faces tremendous internal conflict as he struggles to reconnect with his father in his dying days. In this haunting and powerful tale of a broken father-son relationship, we come to identify with Daniel’s long and tortuous journey back to his father.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As one of the greatest, most celebrated athletes in history, Michael Jordan conquered professional basketball as no one before. Powered by a potent mix of charisma, near superhuman abilities and a ferocious drive to dominate the game, he achieved every award and accolade conceivable before retiring from the Chicago Bulls and taking an executive post with the Washington Wizards. But retirement didn't suit the man who was once king, and at the advanced age of thirty-eight Michael Jordan decided it was time to reclaim the court that was once his. WHEN NOTHING ELSE MATTERS is the definitive account of Jordan's equally spectacular and disastrous return to basketball. Having closely followed Jordan's final two seasons, Michael Leahy draws a fascinating portrait of an intensely complex man hampered by injuries and assaulted by younger players eager to usurp his throne. In this enthralling book Jordan emerges as an ambitious, at times deeply unattractive character with, unsurprisingly, a monstrous ego. WHEN NOTHING ELSE MATTERS is an absorbing portrait not only of one athlete's overriding ambition, but also of a society so in thrall to its sports stars that it is blind to all their faults.

No one else knows what really happened but will a guilty conscience force Rainey to admit to his part in the accident or will he keep quiet?
