Celui-ci passe par le développement d'une gestion de proximité de l'habitat et des habitants et par le renforcement des compétences des professions. Nous abordons ainsi la profession d'agent de proximité HLM comme un éclairage des mutations sociales dans les quartiers et comme un révélateur de l'évolution des modes d'intervention des organismes HLM. A travers une mise en perspective historique des missions du logement social en France et de l'évolution des fonctions et de l'identité des concierges et gardiens d'immeubles, nous mettons en évidence les changements de paradigmes qui ont sous-tendu les conceptions de leur rôle social, et qui marquent aujourd'hui le repositionnement des missions et des emplois HLM, pour faire face aux manifestations de "crise" du lien social dans les quartiers.Nous proposons alors, en lien avec les réflexions développées en sociologie, une approche anthroposociologique de la profession. Celle-ci, abordant la profession comme un phénomène social, s'attache à mettre en relation un mode de contribution sociale et un processus de construction identitaire. Cette problématique permet d'aborder la profession d'agent de proximité HLM comme un "métier du lien social", qui pose la question du sens et des limites de la mission, et qui met à l'épreuve des compétences multiples, pour informer le bailleur et les habitants, pour assurer une veille et un service techniques et pour réguler la cohabitation résidentielle. Elle permet enfin de comprendre le travail permanent de classement social, de construction de frontières, qui nous permet d'interroger les identités professionnelles, ainsi que les statuts et les positions de la profession dans l'organisation HLM et dans l'espace social résidentiel.

Known as the banlieue, the suburban landscapes that make up much of contemporary France are near-opposites of the historic cities they surround. A conventional wisdom has emerged since the election of Donald Trump in 2016 that new technologies and their manipulation by foreign actors played a decisive role in his victory and are responsible for the sense of a "post-truth" moment in which disinformation and propaganda thrives. Network Propaganda challenges that received wisdom through the most comprehensive study yet published on media coverage of American presidential politics from the start of the election cycle in April 2015 to the one year anniversary of the Trump presidency. Analysing millions of news stories together with Twitter and Facebook shares, broadcast television and YouTube, the book provides a comprehensive overview of the architecture of contemporary American political communications. Through data analysis and detailed qualitative case studies of coverage of immigration, Clinton scandals, and the Trump Russia investigation, the book finds that the right-wing media ecosystem operates fundamentally differently than the rest of the media environment. The authors argue that longstanding institutional, political, and cultural patterns in American politics interacted with technological change since the 1970s to create a propaganda feedback loop in American conservative media.
