Book excerpt: PASSION—PAST AND PRESENT Trent Winston had spent years trying to forget the only woman he'd ever loved and the tragedy that had torn their world apart. But now she was back in town, stirring up unwanted memories and unwelcome desires—and demanding that he help her find the child he'd thought was lost forever… Kate Malone was a very different woman now— strong and independent, but with the same innocent sensuality he remembered all too well. And the more time Trent spent with her, the more he ached to reclaim everything that had once been his—starting with her.

Book excerpt: Between the Fourth Meridian and the Continental Divide is a vast land with some of the most varied landscapes, difficult terrain, and treacherous climates in Canada. The challenge of exploring, surveying and mapping the territory now known as Alberta holds some of the most fascinating stories in the 100-year-old province's history. From the first excursions of David Thompson and John Palliser to the ongoing work of surveying for industry and development, from the first hand-drawn maps and sextants to modern satellite imaging and computer modelling, historian Judy Larmour captures the grand arcs and the fascinating details of the dramatic centuries-long struggle to find and mark place.

This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Though the Word of God is likened to honey being savored, daily bread being enjoyed, rain bringing refreshing, and a lamp giving direction, it is also like a fire burning up the chaff, a hammer breaking the rock into pieces, and a double-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit. A combined effect of the Word as hammer, fire, and sword should have the desired purifying effect on those areas of our lives that need cleansing! Though it is true that God desires to work with us, there may be certain things in our lives that prevent God from working with us. Then those areas have to be dealt with. Self, jealousy, pride and lust are some of the negatives that could hinder God from working with us. When we allow the Lord to lay the axe to the root and do a cleansing work in these areas of our lives, we will be better people not only for God but also for each other. Book Synopsis Lay Theology in the Reformation by : Paul A. Russell
Download or read book Lay Theology in the Reformation written by Paul A. Russell and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2002-06-20 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the coming of the Protestant Reformation from the viewpoint of eight common people, who were sufficiently disturbed by the events of 1521-5 to write treatises, letters, dialogues, and sermons, which they published. Their works are lively testimony to the interest of laypeople in the affairs of the church, and their willingness to discuss often complex theological training. These works are among the first documents of lay theology and piety, but they are also propaganda: disappointed with the Catholic clergy and with secular authorities, the authors of these pamphlets were called to prophesy, preach, and convert their readers/listeners lest Christ return soon to find his church unprepared. They demanded a new apostolate for laypeople, something the clergy had feared for centuries and something which civic authorities feared as a potential source of radical ideas.
