Une revue de la littérature définit le TVE et propose un état des lieux de la prise en soin vocale par les orthophonistes. Une enquête par questionnaire permet quant à elle d'en apprendre davantage sur la rééducation orthophonique en France. Il en résulte que le TVE est peu connu et peut mettre en difficultés les orthophonistes dans l'accompagnement de leurs patients. Pour répondre à ce besoin, un guide de prise en soin a été établi. Avant d'être largement diffusé, cet outil reste à être perfectionné et validé.

Book excerpt: La dysphonie spasmodique et le tremblement essentiel de la voix sont généralement traités par des injections laryngées de toxine botulinique. Bien qu'efficace, ce traitement demeure uniquement symptomatique avec une durée d'efficacité limitée à quelques mois. Sa mise en pratique peut représenter une charge mentale importante, et il arrive parfois que certains patients s'y opposent ou présentent des contre-indications à son utilisation. La rééducation orthophonique intervient alors comme un traitement complémentaire aux injections de toxine botulinique. Bien menée, elle permet d'augmenter la durée d'efficacité de la toxine botulinique grâce à la réduction des tensions laryngées. En tant que professionnel de la voix, l'orthophoniste est à même de fournir au patient des explications sur sa pathologie, mais aussi des conseils afin de mieux gérer les effets secondaires potentiels de la toxine botulinique et de faire face aux difficultés rencontrées dans différentes situations de communication du quotidien. Cette intervention orthophonique donne ainsi au patient les outils nécessaires pour devenir acteur de ses soins. Face au manque de données bibliographiques précises et complètes concernant les modalités de l'intervention orthophonique pour la dysphonie spasmodique et le tremblement essentiel de la voix, nous avons extrait les données disséminées dans la littérature afin de fournir des pistes pouvant servir de base en pratique clinique mais aussi pour de futures recherches. Ainsi, notre travail propose une trame d'intervention orthophonique contenant un bilan vocal ciblé, une éducation du patient autour de sa pathologie et une thérapie vocale basée sur la relaxation, la reconstruction de l'imaginaire corporel, le souffle, ainsi que sur des techniques vocales spécifiques à la symptomatologie de la dysphonie spasmodique et du tremblement essentiel de la voix. La validité et l'efficacité de ces techniques restent cependant à prouver par des études scientifiques ultérieures.

His heavily autobiographical, strikingly literary, and polyphonic novels and lyrical essays are widely read by a devout public in France, yet have been largely ignored by academia. A self-consciously Jewish writer and activist, Cohen remained nevertheless ambivalent about Judaism. His self-affirmation as a Jew in juxtaposition with his satirical use of anti-Semitic stereotypes still provokes unease in both republican France and institutional Judaism. In Albert Cohen: Dissonant Voices, the first English-language study of this profound and profoundly misunderstood writer, Jack I. Abecassis traces the recurrent themes of Cohen's works. He reveals the dissonant fractures marking Cohen as a modernist, and analyzes the resistance to his work as a symptom of the will not to understand Cohen's main theme—"the catastrophe of being Jewish."For Abecassis, Cohen's diverse oeuvre forms a single "roman fleuve" exploring this perturbing theme through fragmentation and grotesquerie, fantasies and nightmares, the veiling and unveiling of the unspeakable. Abecassis argues that Cohen should not be read exclusively through the prism of European literature (Stendhal, Tolstoy, Proust), but rather as the retelling—inverting and ultimately exhausting, in the form of submerged plots—of the Biblical romances of Joseph and Esther. The romance of the charismatic Court Jew and its performance correlative, the carnival of Purim, generate the logic of Cohen's acute psychological ambivalence, historical consciousness and carnal sensuality—themes which link this modernist author to Genesis as well as to the literary practices of Sephardic crypto-Jews. Sylvia Washington Bâ analyzes Senghor's poetry to show how the concept of negritude infuses it at every level. A biographical sketch describes his childhood in Senegal, his distinguished academic career in France, and his election as President of Senegal.
