Book Synopsis Basal Implantology by : Gérard M. Scortecci
Download or read book Basal Implantology written by Gérard M. Scortecci and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-06-25 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This manual will help oral implantologists to understand the principles that underlie the use of basal implants as a means to provide simple solutions to complex and highly demanding clinical situations without the need for prior bone grafting. It will also serve as a richly illustrated practical guide to application of the technique. The book is in three parts, the first of which discusses basic principles and related themes, including osteogenesis, osseointegration, cortical anchorage stability, biomechanics, surgical techniques, and basal implant prosthodontics. Step-by-step guidance is then offered on the application of these principles, focusing on operating techniques, 3D treatment planning, transitional and final screw-secured prostheses, and postoperative follow-up. The third part of the book addresses a wide range of clinical situations that can be treated by basal implantology, with particular attention to the treatment of high, thin alveolar ridges and the atrophic maxilla and mandible and to the correction of previous implant failures, as well as complications and postimplantation neuropathies.
Book Synopsis Les corticotomies alvéolaires dans le cadre des mouvements orthodontiques accélérés by : Arnaud Sammut
Download or read book Les corticotomies alvéolaires dans le cadre des mouvements orthodontiques accélérés written by Arnaud Sammut and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Osseo-Integrated Implants by : Gunther Heimke
Download or read book Osseo-Integrated Implants written by Gunther Heimke and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1990-07-03 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The focus of this two-volume work is osseo integration. It discusses the use of glue to attach bony tissue as well as the use of the absence of biochemical interactions between some oxide ceramics (particularly pure A1203 ceramic) and the adjacent tissue. This book also demonstrates the possibility of controlling the interface remodelling by the stresses and strains created by the insertion of the implant. Written in a concise, easy-to-read format, this text covers the use of implants in orthopedics, maxillo-facial surgery, and dentistry. All those involved with bioengineering, orthopedics, maxillo-facial surgery, dentistry, and biomechanics will find this reference to be of particular interest.

Download or read book Molar Protraction written by Un-Bong Baik and published by . This book was released on 2013-05-08 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about the substitution treatment of a missing 1st molar with protraction (forward movement) of the 2nd and 3rd molars by orthodontic space closure. It is one of the most recent treatment methods using miniscrews (TADs: Temporary Anchorage Devices). In cases of missing teeth--not only the 1st molar but also other teeth--an implant or prosthetic treatment is usually necessary. However, what if the patient considers receiving orthodontic treatment after an implant or prosthetics? Orthodontic treatment would become very difficult because an implant or prosthetics would prohibit orthodontic teeth movement. Figures on the front cover of this book show that the 2nd and 3rd molars have mesially drifted to the missing 1st molar space. The formerly impacted (unable to come in) 3rd molar erupted (came in) properly. Therefore, the 2nd and 3rd molars can function as the 1st and 2nd molars, respectively. In this case, troublesome extraction of the impacted 3rd molar and an implant or prosthetic treatment was unnecessary. Is this possible in all cases? If yes, then to what extent? Would there be any other problems in the periodontal and root structure? The substitution treatment of a missing 1st molar may also have its own risks, but if successful, it can largely benefit patients. This book is an organization of the 110 cases that I have treated, discussing both the positive and negative aspects of the concerned treatment. In addition, this book highlights missing space closure of the 1st molar because it is the most difficult type of orthodontic space closure. The missing space of other teeth is generally easier to close. Prosthodontic, endondontic, or periodontic doctors may have more chances to meet patients who have missing teeth than orthodontic specialists. I'd like to suggest that these doctors take this orthodontic treatment into consideration. Patients, as well as dentists, must be aware of various treatment options, including orthodontic treatment methods. I hope it can be a good option for missing teeth.

Book Synopsis Distraction of the Craniofacial Skeleton by : Joseph G. McCarthy
Download or read book Distraction of the Craniofacial Skeleton written by Joseph G. McCarthy and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. McCarthy and his colleagues at NYU have developed techniques of distracting various components of the craniofacial skeleton. These techniques hold considerable promise for reconstructive surgery, allowing the surgeon to make precise changes in the lengthening and shape of the new craniofacial bone. This is the first volume of its kind, bringing together the pioneers of these revolutionary techniques: an international group of experts present their clinical and laboratory experience with distraction of the cranial vault, orbit, midface and zygoma, and mandible, as well as the principles of distraction, biomechanics, and the physiology of bone healing and remodelling. With two hundred illustrations, this is a must for all reconstructive plastic, maxillofacial, and oral surgeons.
Book Synopsis The Surgery-First Orthognathic Approach by : Jong-Woo Choi
Download or read book The Surgery-First Orthognathic Approach written by Jong-Woo Choi and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-01-20 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a comprehensive guide to the surgery-first orthognathic approach for patients with malocclusion and skeletal disharmony, which has been successfully applied by the authors in their practices over the past 15 years. The approach breaks with the time-tested principles of traditional orthognathic surgery in that corrective bone surgery is performed first, without the removal of dental compensations, followed by orthodontic finishing. All aspects are covered with the aid of numerous illustrations, the aim being to provide surgeons with a systematic educational tool that will enable them to introduce the approach into their own practice. In addition, the book addresses one of the hot issues in orthodontics, occlusal plane-altering orthognathic surgery, in which surgical modification of the occlusal plane is employed to treat various types of dentofacial deformity and improve facial proportions. This promises to become a very powerful tool in modern orthognathic surgery.
