La investigación de campo realizada da cuenta, por un lado de 1as diversas prácticas que realizan los moradores del estrato popular urbano de la zona estudiada en torno a la adquisición de suelo urbano y vivienda propia; y que, dada las condiciones de precariedad en que se desenvuelven, se ven obligados a poner en marcha una gama heterogénea de recursos para conseguir tal propósito. Por otro lado, existe suficiente evidencia empírica de que tal proceso se viabilizó a través de la organización de vivienda popular: La Cooperativa. En consecuencia, desde esta perspectiva se examinará en qué medida la organización ha dado respuesta a las expectativas y aspiraciones de las Unidades Domésticas acogiendo tal necesidad y operando dicha demanda habitacional.
