Book excerpt: This book seeks to envision emerging leaders and also equips existing leaders to step out in bold Kingdom ventures. It is a must read for all established visionary leaders and for those who are emerging as aspiring leaders. Catherine draws from her own ministry experience in leading global vision and does so in a transparent and straightforward fashion. The topics in the books include how to recognise your season in the Lord, how to conceive, consolidate and build foundations for vision. How to be prepared to carry vision, how to implement, share and lead vision to completion. Advice on partnership, vision, values, balance in leadership, investing in team, setting goals, dealing with enemy opposition and obtaining counter strategy and much, much more. “This is a wonderfully practical book that melds together Godly values with our best efforts to bring forth Kingdom strategy. It challenges us to lay a true foundation for realizing vision by nurturing the right heart attitude with God and our fellow ministry partners. Then it builds on that solid foundation with straightforward and accessible principles and guidelines. May visions be realized; May leaders be developed; May God’s Kingdom Come.” Rev. Wesley Zinn, Wellspring Church

Book excerpt: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER Pulitzer Prize–winning historian David McCullough rediscovers an important and dramatic chapter in the American story—the settling of the Northwest Territory by dauntless pioneers who overcame incredible hardships to build a community based on ideals that would come to define our country. As part of the Treaty of Paris, in which Great Britain recognized the new United States of America, Britain ceded the land that comprised the immense Northwest Territory, a wilderness empire northwest of the Ohio River containing the future states of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. A Massachusetts minister named Manasseh Cutler was instrumental in opening this vast territory to veterans of the Revolutionary War and their families for settlement. Included in the Northwest Ordinance were three remarkable conditions: freedom of religion, free universal education, and most importantly, the prohibition of slavery. In 1788 the first band of pioneers set out from New England for the Northwest Territory under the leadership of Revolutionary War veteran General Rufus Putnam. They settled in what is now Marietta on the banks of the Ohio River. McCullough tells the story through five major characters: Cutler and Putnam; Cutler’s son Ephraim; and two other men, one a carpenter turned architect, and the other a physician who became a prominent pioneer in American science. They and their families created a town in a primeval wilderness, while coping with such frontier realities as floods, fires, wolves and bears, no roads or bridges, no guarantees of any sort, all the while negotiating a contentious and sometimes hostile relationship with the native people. Like so many of McCullough’s subjects, they let no obstacle deter or defeat them. Drawn in great part from a rare and all-but-unknown collection of diaries and letters by the key figures, The Pioneers is a uniquely American story of people whose ambition and courage led them to remarkable accomplishments. This is a revelatory and quintessentially American story, written with David McCullough’s signature narrative energy.

Book excerpt: In today’s chaotic world, where it seems impossible to find rational order, two black swan events occur that are seemingly unpredictable and have severe and widespread consequences. First, a group of people disappear all at once, whereabouts unknown. Then, a malevolent world ruler called the Beast or Antichrist comes to power to reign from Israel. But these events are only unpredictable if you disregard biblical predications of things to come. A group of ten hearty souls recognized the times and took a leap of faith to quietly isolate themselves in a remote location for four years, avoiding both the madness of the Beast and God’s physical wrath that is poured out to test all humans. Having survived, they have the prospect of being pioneers in a literal one-thousand-year kingdom, ruled by the Lord Jesus Christ, the benevolent King. But first they must travel to Israel for one final judgement to determine whether they are worthy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Master Disciple is written in a clear and inviting manner, sharing invaluable insights into the life of discipleship through the lens of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This book will benefit discipler and disciple alike, but is primarily aimed at equipping ministry and marketplace leaders in the arena of discipling others. Using the life of Christ as a template, Brown unpacks biblical wisdom and methodology on how to disciple others through the stages of calling into ministry, directive teaching, coaching and mentoring within the discipleship process. She skilfully weaves in her own experiences of mentoring many others through three decades of international ministry across nations, denominations and a plurality of ethnicities. This book captures the heart of discipleship and as a practical and spiritual guide is an irreplaceable tool for equipping leaders who are raising others up. Its principles are timeless as they are based on the Kingdom eternal ethos of Jesus Christ. It adds a Celtic voice to the timeless yet profoundly important dialogue and demonstration of Christian discipleship in churches and the marketplace in the global arena today.
