Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are three periods of time of the witness to the gospel, introduced by understanding the number seven and the seventh day rest in the Scriptures. At the end of the first period of time, Noah sent out the dove, a type of the Holy Spirit, and it came back with nowhere to rest. The second period of time began after the sign of the first seven days. The dove came back with an olive leaf. Noah received knowledge from this period of time. The third period of time began after the sign of the second seven days. The dove did not return. The first period of time was from Adam to Abraham. The Holy Spirit could not indwell the Chosen Saved during this period of time. The dove as a type of the Holy Spirit could find no one cleansed from sin. The second period of time began with the first of three sevens. This period of time was from Abraham to the first advent of our Lord. Knowledge came to Noah through this period of time. The entire Old Testament was written. The dove still had to return though, as there still was no place found to land. The third period of time began with the second seven. This period of time was from the first advent of Jesus until His second coming. The dove did not come back this time, as the Holy Spirit found precious souls that had been cleansed from their sins. The dove found a resting place by indwelling the lives of all the Chosen Saved.

The King James Translation is a masterwork of style and the most important book in the English language it has been the driving force in shaping the English-speaking world for hundreds of years. Paul wrote this letter to correct what he saw as erroneous views in the Corinthian church. He urged uniformity of belief in Christian doctrine. Divisions within the church at Corinth seem to be a problem and Paul makes it a point to mention these conflicts in the beginning of the letter. The letter is also notable for mentioning the role of women in churches. After discussing his views on worshiping idols Paul ends with his views on resurrection. He states that Christ died for our sins and was buried and rose on the third day according to the scriptures.

The King James Translation is a masterwork of style and the most important book in the English language it has been the driving force in shaping the English-speaking world for hundreds of years. In Paul's second letter to the Corinthians he again refers to himself as an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God and reassures the people of Corinth that they will not have another painful visit but what he has to say is not to cause pain but to reassure them of the love he has for them. Paul states the importance of forgiving others and God's new agreement that comes from the Spirit of the living God and the importance of being a person of Christ and giving generously to God's people. He ends the letter recounting his experience of conversion.

Book excerpt: Unique, Powerful Way All Believers Can Experience Breakthrough In the Bible, Moses sang. Miriam sang. So did Deborah, David, Mary, Paul, the angels, and so many more. The Israelites went to war singing; they sang over victories, over happy moments and hard moments. They knew something we've lost sight of: When we learn to sing God's words back to Him, we align the deepest spaces of our hearts with the deepest places of His--and we experience breakthrough. So why do we relegate singing the Word to just worship teams? Julie Meyer, a Dove-nominated artist and worship leader, has been teaching all believers how to do just this. She shows that you don't need to know how to read music or even sing in tune. All you need is Scripture and a willingness to engage God in song. As you do, you will see heartache turn into hope, despair into destiny, fear into fearlessness. You stand on the Word, pray it, and even memorize it. Now it's time to sing it.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most Christians take an honest look at themselves and conclude that their limited talents, energy, and knowledge mean that they don't amount to much. Francis A. Schaeffer says that the biblical emphasis is quite different. With God there are no little people! This book contains sixteen sermons that explore the weakness and significance of humanity in relationship to the infinite and personal God. Each was preached by Schaeffer at L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland to the community that gathered there to work, learn, and worship together. The focus of this collection is the lasting truth of the Bible, the faithfulness of God, the sufficiency of the work of Christ, and the reality of God's Spirit in history. The sermons represent a variety of styles-some are topical, some expound Old Testament passages, and still others delve into New Testament texts. No Little People includes theological sermons and messages that focus specifically on daily life and Christian practice. Each sermon is a single unit, and all are valuable for family devotions or other group study and worship. Readers will be encouraged by the value that God places on each person made in His image.

A wide variety of works, particularly in the field of apologetics, have attempted to defend the faith. This work presents articulations of the faith. The best defense is to give testimony to it. The listener will decide what to believe in this cynical age. The root of decisions is scripture, tradition, and proclamation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New Testament shouldn’t be complicated. So why are we often confused? Every Christian wants to love the Bible. But let’s face it: we sometimes get lost in all the names, places, and doctrines that we find in its pages. Who wrote this epistle? Which book is about justification? Joy? Jesus? Aren’t they all about him? The New Testament contains complex ideas and multiple genres. Keeping it straight can be hard to do. Wouldn’t it be nice if somebody who understands the big picture would put it together for us in one place? Biblical scholar and seminary professor Patrick Schreiner draws from his years of experience as a teacher to offer a simple and memorable way of understanding Scripture. And he doesn’t do it by throwing big words at you. The contours of the New Testament and its underlying structure are depicted in visual format along with Schreiner’s clear explanations. In The Visual Word, the Bible comes alive because you can see it pictured before your eyes. By taking a graphic approach, you’ll notice connections you’ve never seen before. Gain insights you’ve missed all these years. And discover an overall pattern that makes each separate piece fall perfectly into place. Don’t settle for mere summaries of the New Testament. Let Schreiner’s concise words and crisp images work together to help you encounter the Living Word in a fresh way.
