Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life is a journey, a journey that takes us through the ups and downs of existence. Along the way, we encounter many challenges and obstacles, as well as moments of joy and happiness. But what is the meaning of this journey? What is the purpose of our existence? And how can we make the most of our time here on earth? These are questions that have puzzled philosophers and spiritual leaders for centuries. In this book, we will explore some of the answers that have been put forth over the years, drawing on the wisdom of ancient texts, modern-day thinkers, and our own experiences. One of the central themes of this book is karma, the idea that our actions have consequences, both in this life and in the next. We will explore how karma works, how it affects our lives, and how we can cultivate positive karma to create a better future for ourselves and for those around us. We will also delve into the nature of consciousness, exploring how our thoughts and emotions shape our reality, and how we can cultivate a positive inner dialogue that aligns with our values and beliefs. Throughout the book, we will draw on real-life examples to illustrate these concepts, showing how they have played out in the lives of people throughout history and in our own lives today. Ultimately, this book is a call to action, encouraging readers to reflect on their own karma and inner conscience and to take action to shape a positive future. We hope that by the end of this journey, you will have gained new insights into the meaning of life, and be inspired to live a life filled with purpose, meaning, and positive karma.
Book Synopsis Cultivating Conscience by : Lynn Stout
Download or read book Cultivating Conscience written by Lynn Stout and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2010-10-04 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How the science of unselfish behavior can promote law, order, and prosperity Contemporary law and public policy often treat human beings as selfish creatures who respond only to punishments and rewards. Yet every day we behave unselfishly—few of us mug the elderly or steal the paper from our neighbor's yard, and many of us go out of our way to help strangers. We nevertheless overlook our own good behavior and fixate on the bad things people do and how we can stop them. In this pathbreaking book, acclaimed law and economics scholar Lynn Stout argues that this focus neglects the crucial role our better impulses could play in society. Rather than lean on the power of greed to shape laws and human behavior, Stout contends that we should rely on the force of conscience. Stout makes the compelling case that conscience is neither a rare nor quirky phenomenon, but a vital force woven into our daily lives. Drawing from social psychology, behavioral economics, and evolutionary biology, Stout demonstrates how social cues—instructions from authorities, ideas about others' selfishness and unselfishness, and beliefs about benefits to others—have a powerful role in triggering unselfish behavior. Stout illustrates how our legal system can use these social cues to craft better laws that encourage more unselfish, ethical behavior in many realms, including politics and business. Stout also shows how our current emphasis on self-interest and incentives may have contributed to the catastrophic political missteps and financial scandals of recent memory by encouraging corrupt and selfish actions, and undermining society's collective moral compass. This book proves that if we care about effective laws and civilized society, the powers of conscience are simply too important for us to ignore.

Book Synopsis KARMA Its Applicability And Relevance In Day-To-Day Life by : LALJEE VERMA
Download or read book KARMA Its Applicability And Relevance In Day-To-Day Life written by LALJEE VERMA and published by One Point Six Technologies Pvt Ltd. This book was released on with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every act is part of the karmic process; bound to have its effect. Karma is considered the all-pervading, universal law of existence. It perhaps finds its greatest relevance in the sentient minds of humans. The karma doctrine cannot be viewed from a religious standpoint; it is relevant to all, regardless of sect, community or beliefs. No one can claim to live life without performing an action – from simple life sustaining activities to highly complex scientific or spiritual enquiry. What we do dictates what we get in this life...and the next…and the next…till we are freed of our karmic burden. Genetic and transmigrating influences are, even today, subjects of research and discussion. The quantum and quality a living being brings from previous karma, if any, is a matter of intense debate, as is the effect that actions may imprint on our conscience. Deliberation on contentious issues is basic to human nature and has been part of human discourse from the dawn of civilisation. The attempt to define karma has consumed immense mental resource over the millennia, along with the search to understand the essential meaning of life. In the vast literature which exists on the subject, pundits from almost every society and religious group in the world, have attempted to explain the significance and validity of karma, or its lack. Though karma is basic to life, its purport remains veiled; deeply relevant yet poorly understood. Self awareness is a feeling of being in the universe; a substance dot in a life-process on the platter of existence, in the paradigm of time and space
Book Synopsis Karma's Name is Jesus by : David Dugan
Download or read book Karma's Name is Jesus written by David Dugan and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-09-08 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of the signers to the Declaration of Independence were Christians. In America today, however, Jesus is relegated to a back-pocket status for most. There's been a steady stream of incrementalism that has frayed the stitching of this once-great nation. The gods of politics, fame, money and political correctness have taken center stage. And it seems like only a small minority of the citizenry even recognize this. What does God think about all this? The bible is the one place we can go to find some answers to that. Sadly, there are many people who will forego that approach for an entire lifetime out of fear of the 'judgment' it contains. I was fortunate to open it as a young man. I discovered a wealth of treasures that far outweighed the judgments. For instance, the word 'heaven' appears nearly 600 times. 'Hell' is mentioned barely over 50! But how do we reach the heart of God and unlock the gates of heaven? Christians know it's only through Jesus. If you love Him, I promise you'll like this book. If you'd like to know more about Him, but are perhaps afraid to open up, please take a step of faith. Learn some of what you may not know. We must reach into the unknown to reap the precious rewards. Being saddened or grieved by the moral decline of our society is simply not good enough. It won't produce change. If you cry over the heinous crimes committed against those most vulnerable, and pray for justice, you'll rejoice over this book. If you're fed up with the blatant corruption of our politicians, you'll be encouraged by this book. The signs of the times are everywhere, and it appears the world and man's clock are winding down. It's my deep and earnest belief that God wants this shared. I'm not a theologian, pastor or scholar; in fact I'm just ordinary. But my faith is honest and sincere. My desire was to put this together in a logical way, with an emphasis on the norms and other things that are easily relatable to most of us. My hope is that you will be blessed and encouraged. And if you are, please consider gifting a copy to someone in need. Thank you.

Download or read book The Mahabharata written by Ramesh Menon and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2006-07-20 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Mahabharata is the more recent of India's two great epics, and by far the longer. First composed by the Maharishi Vyasa in verse, it has come down the centuries in the timeless oral tradition of guru and sishya, profoundly influencing the history, culture, and art of not only the Indian subcontinent but most of south-east Asia. At 100,000 couplets, it is seven times as long as the Iliad and the Odyssey combined: far and away the greatest recorded epic known to man. The Mahabharata is the very Book of Life: in its variety, majesty and, also, in its violence and tragedy. It has been said that nothing exists that cannot be found within the pages of this awesome legend. The epic describes a great war of some 5000 years ago, and the events that led to it. The war on Kurukshetra sees ten million warriors slain, brings the dwapara yuga to an end, and ushers in a new and sinister age: this present kali yuga, modern times. At the heart of the Mahabharata nestles the Bhagavad Gita, the Song of God. Senayor ubhayor madhye, between two teeming armies, Krishna expounds the eternal dharma to his warrior of light, Arjuna. At one level, all the restless action of the Mahabharata is a quest for the Gita and its sacred stillness. After the carnage, it is the Gita that survives, immortal lotus floating upon the dark waters of desolation: the final secret! With its magnificent cast of characters, human, demonic, and divine, and its riveting narrative, the Mahabharata continues to enchant readers and scholars the world over. This new rendering brings the epic to the contemporary reader in sparkling modern prose. It brings alive all the excitement, magic, and grandeur of the original-for our times.

On December 21, 2012, is when the new Golden Age of Man begins. But what does this mean? For some, it's actually quite positive. Book Synopsis Self-aware Intellectuals Conscious Mind The Unaware and The Uplugged by : Abdul Mumin Muhammad
Download or read book Self-aware Intellectuals Conscious Mind The Unaware and The Uplugged written by Abdul Mumin Muhammad and published by BookRix. This book was released on 2023-09-27 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Self-aware, Intellectuals, Conscious Mind, The Unaware and The Unplugged. This book is for those who are new or want to get a better understanding of their own mind. I went on a spiritual journey because I asked myself who am I, and what is the meaning of my life. I began to see that I had to look in the mirror, sometime later I began to realize that this is about self-awareness. I wanted to remember what past experiences conditioned me to be who I am now, I wanted to know who was in control, was it my pain, my insecurities, or my authentic self? Later I wanted to experience ego death, what many call spiritual enlightenment or a Conscious person. Years later, my yoga, and chakra experience led me to die and be reborn, this time with everlasting life. This path is not for everyone, working on yourself to become self-aware is more than enough. I used to believe just because someone was full of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, talking deep, I thought this meant that this person was conscious. I was constantly evolving, I later had more inner experiences that led me to witness that I was wrong, that is just a highly intellectual person who is aware of many, many things. The unaware are the majority which is society, living based on what is given, and eating and sleeping. The unplugged are those who live outside of the program, they observe society just following orders.
