This book was released on 2018-01-01 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The work of Dr John Auping seeks to assist readers to differentiate observationally verified aspects of cosmology from ideas whose verification is distant, or perhaps impossible. Such a task is performed by using a careful application of the orthodox scientific method. This English edition is a part of Auping’s original work especially devoted to the description of the dynamics of stars, and the analysis of the Big Bang, steady state and multiverse models from a critical point of view. The author approaches different aspects of the evolution of the Universe using different branches of astrophysics, Newtonian mechanics, nuclear physics, thermodynamics, quantum physics and general relativity, with a clear and concise narrative. Mathematical boxes support the deeper study of mathematical-physical relations, which can be omitted by readers who are not specialised.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bibliography lists about 10.000 titles of monographs, collections and articles in the field of the philosophy of religion and philosophical theology that appeared between 1955 and 2005. The majority of them are in the English language but publications in German, Dutch and French are listed as well. Though it is not claimed to be exhaustive, the bibliography offers a fairly representative survey of scholarly work on the main topics of interest. *** Publications have been systematically classified according to eleven main categories: "Introductions, Surveys and Historical Issues" (Part I), "Religious Language" (Part II), "Religious Experience" (Part III), "Religious Epistemology" (Part IV), "Theism" (Part V), "Hermeneutics" (Part VI), "Religion and Science" (Part VII), "Religion and Aesthetics" (Part VIII), "Religion and Morality" (Part IX), "Religious Pluralism" (Part X) and "Feminist Philosophy of Religion" (Part XI). Part III has been subdivided into "Religious Experience" and "Mystical Experience," Part VII into "The Concept of God," (arguments for) "The Existence of God," "The Problem of Evil" and "Atheism," and Part VII into "General and Historical Issues," "Theological Issues" and "(implications of) Modern Physics, Cosmology and Biology," *** The bibliography will particularly be useful to scholars, teachers and students in the philosophy of religion, philosophical theology and systematic theology as well as to those who are interested, professionally or otherwise, in the results of academic scholarship in those fields.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: English summary: Contingency confounds reason. If reason tries to reduce contingency, it will come up against its limitations. God on the other hand is more familiar with contingency, since contingency originates with him. If one thinks through the relationship between God and contingency, reason will also discover its contingency. Using modern approaches as examples, the authors of this work investigate the history of this unsolved problem.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who isn't familiar with the infamous "Inspector Chance", who always appears unannounced? Does the unexpected only seem like a coincidence because we are unaware of the complex order behind it? The question cannot be answered by a simple "yes" or "no". Instead, the author hopes to show that coincidence has two very different faces. One of them reveals the trivial side. The other, in contrast, is "coincidence of a higher order", which is no longer truly a coincidence. Rather, it is based on connections that science is just beginning to discover. To allow the reader to better understand the sections related to supernatural phenomena, the author has created two physicists to accompany the reader, they are Al and Zach. Whereas Al vehemently defends the "traditional side", Zach is among the avantgarde in his field, who does not view the phenomena represented here as taboo and who attempts to reconcile such phenomena using the discoveries of modern quantum physics. Let yourself be carried away - not only while reading these incredible stories of coincidence, but by the exciting discussion as well, which is free of prejudice and does not attempt to place mysticism on a scientific platform. Following his studies in chemistry, Dr. Rolf Froböse worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute, was division manager at technology magazine highTech and chief editor of the journals Chemie Industrie and Europa Chemie. Since 1995, he has worked as a freelance science and economic journalist, reporting on research and technology issues. He has also penned numerous popular non-fiction books, including The Secret Physics of Coincidence and Lust und Liebe - alles nur Chemie? (Lust and Love - Is it more than Chemistry), (Wiley-VCH, 2004). The latter was written in collaboration with his wife Gabriele and has been translated into English, Spanish, Danish and Korean.

This book was released on 2023-12-30 with total page 2028 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
