Diese Seminararbeit widmet sich in gegebener Kürze verschiedenen Themenbereichen, deren Kenntnis zu einer bewussten Mediennutzung beiträgt. Im ersten Kapitel werden Statistiken zum Medienkonsum in Österreich näher beleuchtet, um einen groben Überblick über den derzeitigen Sachverhalt zu erlangen und die Wichtigkeit des Themas zu verdeutlichen, bevor im zweiten Abschnitt der Arbeit kurz das Phänomen der „Filterblase“ erläutert wird. Darauf folgt ein kurzer Exkurs zum „Dirty Campaigning“ in Verbindung mit „Fake News“, um auch diese Themenbereiche in knappem Umfang zu skizzieren. Auch die zur Informationsbeschaffung von Jugendlichen meistgenutzten Online-Plattformen werden charakterisiert. Der Hauptteil dieser Seminararbeit steht im Zeichen der didaktischen Vermittlung dieser Themen und den damit verbundenen Kompetenzen, die die Schülerinnen und Schüler erlangen sollten. Hierzu werden methodische Ansätze und Unterrichtskonzepte beschrieben, die im Zuge des Seminars bereits im Plenum kurz vorgestellt wurden. Durch den Einsatz von neuen Medien im Unterricht wird aus einem bloßen Erlernen des Inhalts ein wirkliches Erfahren der Vorgänge, auf deren Bewusstmachung ein Schwerpunkt gelegt wird. Abschließend werden in der Conclusio der Kern dieser Arbeit zusammengefasst und wichtige Punkte hervorgehoben.
