Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The problem is, so many still don't know Him. We live in a highly advanced society, but we have allowed our focus to shift to the pursuit of knowledge that won't benefit us when our life on earth is done. Small children know how to use electronic gadgets better than their own parents; unfortunately, these devices allow access to evil games, movies, and pornographic sites. The good news is, the gospel of Jesus Christ is being transmitted over these same airwaves. When we know God, our outlook on life will change. It is the responsibility of every believer to go out into the world and teach others what we know. Just because the news media refuse to report the many miracles that are being performed every day doesn't mean we should stop praying, and believing God for them. What we do in private affects one life at a time. Many of the miracles that Jesus performed were one on one. As film crews move from one location to another, they turn their lights out. When Jesus turns on the light in our hearts, people we aren't aware of will see our actions and glorify Him. As we learn more about him, we become more like Him. Food, clothing, and shelter are the basic necessities needed for a comfortable life here on earth. As we unfold the beautiful truths found in scripture, we discover the real reason Jesus came. Of all the evidence that has been presented concerning the deity of Jesus Christ, the words God spoke through the prophets is the strongest. The Old Testament is full of prophecies about the first and second coming of Christ. Many have already been fulfilled. The whole Bible reveals Him and is the greatest testimony to His authenticity. In order to witness about Him, with power, you have to know Him and know about Him.

Book excerpt: The message in this board book is one that will resonate with Christian families and those who use church libraries. Children of varying races and looks make comments about freckles, red hair, black skin, blue eyes, and physical disabilities, but they all know that their physical appearance does not matter because Jesus loves them no matter how they look. In addition to the religious message, the message of tolerance and acceptance of others is one that goes beyond Christianity. The stylized illustrations on each page present a pleasant variety of kids.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Jesus Knows: Our Hearts, Our Responsibility" explores the profound truth that Jesus, in His infinite wisdom and love, knows us more deeply than we know ourselves. The Bible repeatedly affirms that God is intimately acquainted with every detail of our lives-our thoughts, desires, struggles, and intentions. Psalm 139:1-2 reminds us, "O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off." This scripture highlights the undeniable reality that nothing about us is hidden from Jesus. He sees beyond our outward actions and appearances, right into the very core of our being-our hearts. This book invites you to consider the implications of this divine knowledge. If Jesus knows our hearts, what does that mean for how we live? What responsibilities does this knowledge place upon us? Far from being a passive observation, Jesus' awareness of our innermost thoughts calls us to a higher standard of living-a life marked by integrity, accountability, and a deep commitment to aligning our hearts with His will. The knowledge that Jesus sees everything about us should inspire us to live more authentically and purposefully. In a world that often encourages superficiality, the truth that Jesus knows our hearts is both a challenge and a comfort. It challenges us to examine our motives, confess our sins, and strive to live lives pleasing to God-not just in our actions, but in the intentions behind them. However, it also brings great comfort, as knowing that Jesus understands our hearts means He sees our struggles and efforts to follow Him. His knowledge is a testament to His deep love for us, inviting us to come to Him with all our burdens, confident that He will help us carry them.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “If there were a Guinness Book of World Records entry for ‘amount of times having prayed the sinner’s prayer,’ I’m pretty sure I’d be a top contender,” says pastor and author J. D. Greear. He struggled for many years to gain an assurance of salvation and eventually learned he was not alone. “Lack of assurance” is epidemic among evangelical Christians. In Stop Asking Jesus Into Your Heart, J. D. shows that faulty ways of present- ing the gospel are a leading source of the confusion. Our presentations may not be heretical, but they are sometimes misleading. The idea of “asking Jesus into your heart” or “giving your life to Jesus” often gives false assurance to those who are not saved—and keeps those who genuinely are saved from fully embracing that reality. Greear unpacks the doctrine of assurance, showing that salvation is a posture we take to the promise of God in Christ, a posture that begins at a certain point and is maintained for the rest of our lives. He also answers the tough questions about assurance: What exactly is faith? What is repentance? Why are there so many warnings that seem to imply we can lose our salvation? Such issues are handled with respect to the theological rigors they require, but Greear never loses his pastoral sensitivity or a communication technique that makes this message teachable to a wide audience from teens to adults.

Book excerpt: Your life is filled with pressure and pain and heartache and disappointment. So was His. If you’ve ever tried to pick up the shattered pieces of your life and put them back together again without help, you know it’s an impossible task. When you lose your job, when divorce divides your family, when a loved one commits suicide, or when cancer claims a friend, it’s easy to lose perspective and abandon hope. According to Jon Weece, Christianity does not require you to smile through your pain, much less praise God for tormenting you. God doesn’t enjoy your suffering. But he does understand it—and he knows exactly how to fix it. That’s what Me Too is all about: A God who turned the ugliness of the cross into a spectacle of eternal beauty. An all-powerful Lord who will do the same with the pain of this world. An eternal Father who specializes in wiping away tears and putting you back together again. If you’ll allow him.

With practical application and inspiration, Johnny Baker shares his story of recovering from alcoholism and offers the truths he has learned from his 25 years with Celebrate Recovery. Baker’s father, John, founded Celebrate Recovery when Baker was 15 years old. Later, Baker became involved with alcohol himself. Even though he saw his parents’ marriage heal and watched his dad become a new person, he had to experience his own journey of healing. Baker began the process of recovery as a young adult. Now he serves on the leadership team of Celebrate Recovery, sharing his testimony of how God brought him back home. In the years since leaving alcohol behind, Baker has witnessed thousands of other lives change through the power of Christ. Whether you are dealing with substance abuse, relational struggles, or eating challenges, or you simply want to let go of what is holding you back in life, you will find answers in The Road to Freedom. In addition to telling his own story, Baker offers ten principles of healing. These life lessons remind you that pain has a purpose, small and steady improvement lasts longer than overnight change, serving others leads to deeper healing, and facing your problems is the only way to heal. The Road to Freedom will help you move from coping with hurts, hang-ups, and habits to the hope and health that only Jesus can bring.

Book excerpt: A Gospel-Rich, Reproducible Model for Making Disciples as Jesus Intended Biblical discipleship emphasizes encouragement, repentance, and spiritual growth—essential parts of the Christian life. However, well-meaning believers often struggle to follow Jesus, unaware their views are too legalistic, licentious, or individualistic. How can churches and Christians develop a healthy, successful path to disciple-making? In this second edition of Gospel-Centered Discipleship, Jonathan Dodson presents an effective, Spirit-led model for sanctification. Reminding readers that real discipleship is imperfect yet transformational, Dodson encourages Christians to engage more authentically with others as they grow in faith. Drawing from his own failures and successes while following Jesus, Dodson defines discipleship, describes the heart of a disciple, and gives practical guidance for mentor and peer-based discipleship as Jesus intended. Revised and Expanded: Includes three new chapters and new illustrations Applicable: Shows how discipleship can be practical and gospel-centered Theological: Addresses the Holy Spirit's involvement in discipleship Foreword by Matt Chandler: Author of The Explicit Gospel

Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Kathie Lee Gifford reveals heartwarming, entertaining conversations between people and personalities who both agree and disagree about who Jesus is, his role throughout history, and his presence in our lives today. For decades Kathie Lee has had deep conversations about her faith with anyone who is interested in talking about it. What she discovered early on is most people are very willing to talk about Jesus: atheists, agnostics, Scientologists, Jews, broken-hearted Catholics, confused Baptists, Pentecostals, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Hindus alike. While some of the people Kathie Lee has spoken with do not share her belief that Jesus is the Messiah—as prophesied for centuries by prophets in the Hebrew scriptures—they nonetheless have a universal fascination with Him. This singular man who lived more than two thousand years ago, and never traveled more than one hundred miles from where He was born, managed to change the entire world. Even the way we delineate history (BC/AD) comes from His short thirty-three years of life. In The Jesus I Know, Kathie Lee shares cherished conversations that she’s had with others who find Jesus to be an ancient historical figure who somehow continues to be an undeniably magnetic, relevant presence in the modern world. Those conversations include actors like Kristin Chenoweth and Cynthia Garrett, with stories of Craig Ferguson and Kevin Costner, newsmakers and news personalities like Kris Jenner, Megyn Kelly, Jason Kennedy, and Janice Dean, performers like Chynna Phillips Baldwin, Brian Welch, Jimmie Allen, and Jimmy Wayne, hitmakers like Louis York and David Pomeranz, as well as those coming from other faith traditions. Using Kathie Lee’s favorite Scripture passages as scaffolding, these thought-provoking exchanges will bring His teachings to life before your very eyes.
