Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join father/son team G. L. and Glenn Cook in their exploration of the Bible to understand God's ultimate plan for everlasting peace, joy, and happiness on the earth. Peace on Earth: Millennium of King Jesus is the writers' authoritative compendium of eschatological texts, especially relating to the futuristic years when Jesus Christ will return to the earth at the Battle of Armageddona "and afterward, bring everlasting peace to all nations on the earth. It is good news! Biblical evidence and details are presented to demonstrate how King Jesus will literally establish his 1,000-year, theocratic, world-dominating government. As John G. Hall, one of the writers' favorite professors of biblical eschatology, once stated, 'If you don't believe King Jesus and his saints will be riding white horses when he returns to the earth, then you can just walk and I will ride.'"

Book Synopsis Covenant of Peace by : Willard M. Swartley
Download or read book Covenant of Peace written by Willard M. Swartley and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2006 with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One would think that peace, a term that occurs as many as one hundred times in the New Testament, would enjoy a prominent place in theology and ethics textbooks. Yet it is surprisingly absent. Willard Swartley's Covenant of Peace remedies this deficiency, restoring to New Testament theology and ethics the peace that many works have missed. In this comprehensive yet accessible book Swartley explicates virtually all of the New Testament, relating peace -- and the associated emphases of love for enemies and reconciliation -- to core theological themes such as salvation, christology, and the reign of God. No other work in English makes such a contribution. Swartley concludes by considering specific practices that lead to peacemaking and their place in our contemporary world. Retrieving a historically neglected element in the Christian message, Covenant of Peace confronts readers anew with the compelling New Testament witness to peace.

Book Synopsis The Conclusion of the New Testament (1) by : Witness Lee
Download or read book The Conclusion of the New Testament (1) written by Witness Lee and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on with total page 639 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Lord’s recovery during the past five hundred years the church’s knowledge of the Lord and His truth has been continually progressing. This monumental and classical work by Brother Witness Lee builds upon and is a further development of all that the Lord has revealed to His church in the past centuries. It is filled with the revelation concerning the processed Triune God, the living Christ, the life-giving Spirit, the experience of life, and the definition and practice of the church. In this set Brother Lee has kept three basic principles that should rule and govern every believer in their interpretation, development, and expounding of the truths contained in the Scriptures. The first principle is that of the Triune God dispensing Himself into His chosen and redeemed people; the second principle is that we should interpret, develop, and expound the truths contained in the Bible with Christ for the church; and the third governing principle is Christ, the Spirit, life, and the church. No other study or exposition of the New Testament conveys the life nourishment or ushers the reader into the divine revelation of God’s holy Word according to His New Testament economy as this one does.

Book Synopsis The Wonders of Jesus by : Jeremiah Burroughs
Download or read book The Wonders of Jesus written by Jeremiah Burroughs and published by Puritan Publications. This book was released on 2022-01-03 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the more exciting prophecies concerning the Messiah is Isaiah 9:6, and it is very full and very pregnant in its meaning. Here we read the well-known nativity verse concerning the advent of the Messiah as a child born, (his blessed incarnation), and then the varied designations given to that child in his titles. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” There are seven designations in this verse, (including being, 1) born a child and 2) being a son), all of which could be turned in books themselves (and have been). To choose one title to speak on is very difficult. Jeremiah Burroughs, in this work, has chosen the term, “wonderful,” the third in the list, to consider. This work by Burroughs will help the Christian discern some of the sparks of Christ’s wonder in his various offices and works. Jesus is truly wonderful. From Isaiah 9:6 he will cover that Christ is the great wonder of the world. That Christ is wonderful in his offices of Prophet, Priest and King. That Christ is wonderful in his miracles. That Christ is wonderful in his death, resurrection, ascension and present intercession. That Christ is wonderful in the glory of the Father (in two parts) and then concludes with an application. This work is a great encouragement to have our eyes set on the wonders of Christ, and to contemplate daily the person and work of Christ, as God has given us his word to discern him and see him as wonderful.

Book excerpt: As we see before us a world getting darker and darker, Christians sense an urgency to strengthen our faith, knowing in whom we believe. This study focuses on Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that we might see the invisible and know the unknowable God of heaven. A multitude of names and titles are found in both the Old and the New Testaments. They show a progressive revelation of the Son of God, and of our heavenly Father. We look into the Greek and Hebrew origins to discover amazing truths not seen in the English translation, and bring clarity to the language of the King James Bible (1611), the best expression of God’s Word available to us. A fascinating study for the Christian who wants to look deeper into the Word of God.

Book Synopsis Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Restoration by : Martin William Mittelstadt
Download or read book Forgiveness, Reconciliation, and Restoration written by Martin William Mittelstadt and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2010-08-01 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although history is replete with tales of revenge, Christian forgiveness provides an alternate response. In this volume, Pentecostal scholars from various disciplines offer their vision for forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration. The essayists offer long-overdue Pentecostal perspectives through analysis of contemporary theological issues, personal testimony, and prophetic possibilities for restoration of individual relationships and communities. Though Pentecostals remain committed to Spirit-empowered witness as recorded in Luke-Acts, these scholars embrace a larger Lukan vision of Spirit-initiated inclusivity marked by reconciliation. The consistent refrain calls for forgiveness as an expression of God's love that does not demand justice but rather seeks to promote peace by bringing healing and reconciliation in relationships between people united by one Spirit.
