Saratoga Springs, NY. Shirley Andrews has brought forth the greatness of our God through the visualization of nature; through the lives and behaviors of some of God’s most colorful creatures, birds! Shirley brings together her words of wisdom and the power of her prayers as she shares with each new description. As I read the book, I gained a totally new insight into how our God, the Creator of all things, yearns for us to be close to Him. Through the Scripture and the photos we see clearly the loving beauty of God’s creation. I recommend this devotional for people who are looking for the gentleness, sweetness and loving kindness that comes to us through Shirley’s ability to show us the greatness that comes from small things. I encourage each of you to take this devotional each day and see how God will reveal Himself to you and how we along with Shirley journey with her in her relationship with God. This book brings forth the greatness of God on each page! ENJOY! Rev. Patti Molik Elder, Upper New York Annual Conference United Methodist Church Shirley’s wonderful compilation of prayer, Scripture, photography, and devotional reflections, contained in “His Eye Is On the Sparrow,” provided me with a greater respect of the interdependence between humanity and creation and the way in which God’s presence sustains and maintains the fragile balance between the two. This inspiring devotional highlights insightful lessons to each of us through the life of various birds God has gifted to the world. I know I will look at birds differently from now on. Rev. Penny Brink Elder, Upper New York Annual Conference United Methodist Church “Shirley turns our attention to the loving presence of God all around us and encourages us to step out in faith to receive the grace God is waiting to share with us.” Rev. Book Synopsis The Coming Prince by : Robert Anderson
Download or read book The Coming Prince written by Robert Anderson and published by Cosimo, Inc.. This book was released on 2007-04-01 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: He was one of the most popular lay preachers and Christian apologists of his day: Sir Robert Anderson devoutly believed that the Bible was the inerrant word of God, and in this popular 1881 book-a companion to his Daniel in the Critics' Den-he mounts a defense of the prophetic Old Testament Book of Daniel, an early example of apocalyptic philosophy in Christianity. Students of the Bible will appreciate this historically valuable attempt to set straight the many controversies surrounding Daniel regarding its authorship and even the date of its writing. And anyone interested in the apocalyptic fervor of modern-day fundamentalist Christianity will find this an instructive and enlightening read. While at Scotland Yard, Irish police official and religious scholar SIR ROBERT ANDERSON (1841-1918) helped investigate the Jack the Ripper murders, but he is best remembered for his works of Bible study, including Forgotten Truths and The Silence of God.
Book Synopsis Musings of a Christian Physician on the Physical and Spiritual Healing of Man by : Joseph DeMay MD FAAP
Download or read book Musings of a Christian Physician on the Physical and Spiritual Healing of Man written by Joseph DeMay MD FAAP and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2020-05-27 with total page 355 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I had always believed in the healing power of our Lord, and viewed my life as one of service to Him via the practice of medicine. But, in retrospect, I had a deeper trust in the power of modern medicine and science than I did in Jesus Christ and His fully accomplished work on the Cross. My thinking was flawed, but, as I grew in my walk with the Lord and meditated on Scripture more fully, I began to see the superiority of faith over the limited interventions modern medical science had to offer, and that this interplay between faith and science was not mutually exclusive, but complimentary, for the spiritual aspects of our lives illuminate and empower the carnal aspects of intellect and physical senses. I began jotting notes to myself related to this interplay of faith and healing and science, and just filed them away...for years. IThen, in December of 2017, a baby was born to a first time mother of mine, his little body riddled with the most fulminant form of acute lymphoblasic leukemia, almost always fatal. His absolutely miraculous healing was the impetus to start putting these thoughts into writing, in the form of weekday morning emails entitled “A Christian Doctor’s View of Healing, Faiith, and Science”. It was soon made clear to me that these writings were to take the form of a year long devotional book, comprised of short weekday messages that are intimately linked, such that they can be read through as a book. And that book was to paint a picture, and that picture was to be of a face, and the face was to be that of Jesus, for He is the source of all healing
