The intensity distributions for the amplitudes having J{sup PC} values 0{sup +2} and 2{sup +2} are presented and discussed. The observed strong production of the f0(1700) in J/? radiative decay suggests that this state may consist primarily of the lightest scalar glueball state. The previous courses covered topics related to fundamental symmetries, light and heavy quark spectroscopy, and antiproton-nucleus interactions. The purpose of this school is to review theoretical and experimental aspects of low energy antiproton physics concerning the quark-gluon structure of hadrons and the dynamics of the. antiproton-nucleon interaction. Another important objective is the discussion of future directions of research with low-and medium-energy antiprotons in the context of future medium energy facilities at CERN and elsewhere. These proceedings contain both the tutorial lectures and the various contributions presented during the school by the participants. The proceedings have been organised in three sections. The first section is devoted to the theoretical lectures and contributions. The selection of the various subjects wants to emphasize the correlation between antiproton-nucleon physics and the underlying description in terms of quarks and gluons. The second section contains an overview about 35 years of experiments with antiprotons. It gives an introduction to the particle physics aspects of the field by outlining the historical development of experiment and theory, and by describing the motivation and the results of three recent LEAR experiments in more detail. The third section contains most of the contributions of the participants describing in more detail certain aspects of current or planned experiments at LEAR.

The first four days were at Queen Mary and Westfield College, London and the last six at the University College of Swansea, Wales. The reason for the split sites was a question of accomodating the 54 students and 12 lecturers. However, it was enjoyed by all concerned, providing the opportunity to sample the nightlife of London one week and enjoy the delightful coastal area around Swansea the following week. The meeting immediately preceded the Hadron '95 conference in Manchester. The contents of this volume run roughly parallel to the order of the lectures. Martin Faessler's brief and that of Madjid Boutemeur was to review experimental tech niques as well as physics results. We have tried to review all the areas which are currently active experimentally. This means mostly Light Meson Spectroscopy. However, Simon Capstick gave us a welcome review of Baryon Spectroscopy and the coming CEBAF program. This is an opportunity to thank NATO for their generous financial support, and also the two host institutions for excellent coordination and an enjoyable stay.

Book excerpt: Radiative decays of the radically excited charmonium resonance, [psi](2S), into[pi][pi], K[bar K] and[eta][eta] final states have been measured in a sample of 3.96 x 10[sup 6][psi](2S) events collected by the BES collaboration. The branching ratios B([psi](2S)[yields][gamma]f[sub 2](1270))= (2.27[+-] 0.26[+-] 0.39) x 10[sup -4] and B([psi](2S)[yields][gamma]f[sub 0](1710)) x B(f[sub 0](1710)[yields] K[sup+]K[sup -])= (5.59[+-] 1.12[+-] 0.93) x 10[sup -5] are obtained. When compared to the corresponding radiative J/[psi] decays, the observed[psi](2S) radiative decay rates into[gamma]f[sub 2](1270) and[gamma]f[sub 0](1710) are consistent with the ''15%'' rule.
