Book excerpt: It's A Faith Walk is a timely and urgent call to awaken the hearts of every Christian to grab God's hand and go forth on a Faith Walk with our Lord, and inspire and encourage fellow Faith Walkers so God's specific purpose predestined for you, to fulfill upon in your lifetime, shall be realized in your lifetime. Bishop George Dallas McKinney It's A Faith Walk is a journey God orchestrated after preparing me enough to get out of the whale Jonah found himself in so I could experience living in awe and wonder each step of the way. Since God started with a card-carrying, pew-warming, protestant denominational gal, there was a lot of preparation which needed to take place! God's training prior to being sent did not stop when God orchestrated travel since I was sent 'without an extra coin or tunic' and God arranged personal introductions before I arrived and confirmed plans after I showed up, plus, there was a lot of 'on the job training' and 'filling me as an empty vessel' with exact words precisely when they were needed. Like many who have asked me, I wanted to see the signs, wonders and miracles. I did not realize it was my limited human understanding which was blocking the experience! Before the journey, my prayer requests were merely words about what I want God to do. Sad, but I was focused upon exactly what and how I expected God to proceed, to 'get it done and also do it all for me.' I never saw my prayers from God's perspective. As soon as I did, everything I had prayed up to that point sounded lame. Not an easy realization to comprehend. God had to show me that we do not know his word or that his promises are true, so we are not able to begin to comprehend the glorious things God has 'in store for us.' We have a very limited, human view of our life. I pray that changes for God has a God sized view of our life. His plans for us are big. It is painful to hear so many people state the church, the body of Christ, is still in the pre-toddler phase and not walking yet, only hoping to hear a good word on Sunday that will carry the people through the week. I trust this is why God has shown me how much he has planned for us and why we need to operate as bible based and spirit-filled believers. The first time I heard that, I did not know the difference between the churches. Without God's guidance, we lack the ability to comprehend or act on God's plan for our life. I pray you will lean on God's word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit and not on your own understanding. A dear man of God told me he asked God to show him “Who is this woman?” God's vision of me showed how the mouse is to the elephant (body of Christ). I was so persistent, shouting for the elephant to move, but, I was ignored. Plus, during all attempts while I was biting on the back ankles, swinging on the tail and shouting, “Move,” even as I ran to the left ear, bit the ear and shouted. But, I would not stop there. I ran to the right ear, bit the ear many times and shouted until the elephant took the first step. God showed him my effort caused the body to move. Encouraged, since I have met with many leaders in the body and I've shared God's deep concerns about the body not being equipped and trained so we can grow to maturity. We are to be wise as serpents. Not to participate with them, merely to know what they are doing. Example: Check with spell check. It only recognizes demonizing or demonized not discipling or discipled. As the body of Christ, we have a lot of work to do! God has been clear, we need to be equipped and trained to faith walk as an Ambassador of our Lord Jesus Christ! May the words I share based upon all God has shown to me, bless and encourage you to go on a faith walk with God walking in power in authority utilizing your gifts, talents, skills and abilities to bless the people God directs you to. Then, share your testimony with me and all in the world who have ears to hear. Sheila Holm

We often walk through our days and are not even aware of His presence or the evidence of His provisions. A Walk in Faith slows us down enough to take a look at His activity in our lives.

Accept her challenge to pray for yourself in these areas every day for twenty days, and watch how God changes your life as you move into the center of His will. Book excerpt: FAITH WALK is a poetic journey through the life and insights of a Christian woman who understands the power contained in holy scripture and in each of us. It is a rhythmic dance of words, spiritual insights and inspiration. "God Meets Me There" is a simple but powerful depiction of the yearning of the human spirit that is eloquently captured in the lines and spirit of this poem. "Chosen" is one of the most compelling poetic insights into the thoughts and spiritual struggles of Mary, the mother of Jesus, that I have ever read. Faith captures the essence of Mary as a woman, mother and chosen one. "These Tears" is a poignant poetic display of the struggle of a people enslaved physically, emotionally and spiritually. It calls us to cry for those whose human dignity has cried for generations. There are poems in Faith Walk that combine culture and spirit, and these two forces can transform our lives and the world. There are rivers of creativity that flow through each of us. This collection of spiritual and cultural poems will lead you to the place where your soul can be refreshed, inspired and challenged...by the holy word of God and the sacred yearning of a creative writer. May many drink from this river. David Hall President, University of the Virgin Islands ...From the Dedication piece to "Answered Prayer," every single poem touched my soul. The poems and the Bible verses were such a delightful and inspirational combination! Your poems are like the Psalms- they have been like marrow to my bones. I am assured that others who read your FAITH WALK will find your poems as captivating and inspiring as I have. What a blessing! Andrea S. Morris, PhD

Book excerpt: An inside look at the faith that guides the all-stars. The St. Louis Cardinals have long been one of the most successful franchises in the major leagues. They have won 11 World Series titles and some of the most famous players in the history of the game have worn the storied “Birds on the Bat” uniform. While that on-field success has been well documented, Intentional Walk is the first book which goes beyond the story of what happens on the field to take an in-depth look at the men inside the Cardinal uniforms, and examine how their strong Christian faith is one of the driving forces behind their success. Intentional Walk features the stories of Adam Wainwright, David Freese, Lance Berkman, Matt Holliday, Carlos Beltran, Jason Motte and other members of the 2012 Cardinals, written as those players and the rest of the team tried to repeat the 2011 world championship. The book talks about how they became Christians and offers their testimony about what it means for them to have God play such a prominent role in their lives. Playing for first-year manager Mike Matheny, a strong Christian as well, these men talk about their success and failure, about the challenges that come from playing baseball at the highest level, and how thankful and blessed they are to have that God-given ability. In the end, however, what is far more important to them is their life-long relationship they have established with Jesus Christ.
