Book excerpt: This book argues that, to be healthy, human beings should love nature and stay in balance with it as much as possible. In other words: do not unbalance nature so that your own balance is not disturbed. The best and healthiest way for human beings to live is to find balance in life and nature. In this regard, the book discusses useful, nutritious, functional foods, nutraceuticals and antioxidants, and how natural molecules, which are provided by nature, can be the best medicine for human beings. At a molecular level, stress is defined by the presence of unbalanced free radicals in the body. Most diseases – especially type 2 diabetes, which accounts for the majority of diabetics – can be traced back to this problem. Our scientific evidence indicates that type 2 diabetes isn’t just a disease resulting from sugar, but also from stress. The book seeks to promote a healthier lifestyle by considering the psychoemotional dimension of wellness. And finally, it contends that good sleep is at the root of health and happiness for humanity, and that unbalanced free radicals are expelled from the body during restful sleep. The authors hope that this book will be a helpful guide and source of peace for readers, especially given their need for inner calm during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that the suggestions provided will show them the way to a better life.

Book excerpt: This unique reference explores the processes and nuances of human habits through social psychology and behavioral lenses. It provides a robust definition and theoretical framework for habit as well as up-to-date information on habit measurement, addressing such questions as which mechanisms are involved in habitual action and whether people can report accurately on their own habits. Specialized chapters pay close attention to how habits can be modified, as well as widely varying manifestations of habitual thoughts and behaviors, including the mechanisms of drug addiction and recovery, the repetitive characteristics of autism, and the unwitting habits of health professionals that may impede patient care. And across these pages, contributors show the potential for using the processes of maladaptive habits to replace them with positive and health-promoting ones. Throughout this volume attention is also paid to the practice of conducting habit research. Among the topics covered: Habit mechanisms and behavioral complexity. Complexities and controversies of physical activity habit. Habit discontinuities as vehicles for behavior change. Habits in depression: understanding and intervention. A critical review of habit theory of drug dependence. Questions about the automaticity of habitual behaviors. The Psychology of Habit will interest psychologists across a wide spectrum of domains: habit researchers in broader areas of social and health psychology, professionals working in (sub)clinical areas, interested scholars in marketing, consumer research, communication, and education, and public policymakers dealing with questions of behavioral change in the areas of health, sustainability, and/or education.

He developed techniques for improving and managing self-image visualization, mental rehearsal and relaxation which have informed and inspired countless motivational gurus, sports psychologists, and self-help practitioners for more than sixty years. We can have the best vision, the best strategy or the best processes the world has ever imagined - as long as our culture does not support that, our activities will lead nowhere. This is a nice explanation for why approximately 70% of big corporate transformations fail to produce the intended results. The necessity of sustainably improving the corporate culture becomes also evident in diverse empirical studies: According to, e.g., Gallup, the culture in most (western) organizations is far from being open, empowering, honest and motivating. As a result, in fact, the average employee spends his time at work being rather demotivated and disengaged. What a waste of precious lifetime and resources! As a result, working on and improving the corporate culture should be at the very heart of every corporate transformation! But how to do so? Change can be fun! People CAN enjoy change! Certain elements can make the change a success! Be inspired by our practice and evidence-based thinking of how change works - to make it work for you! The LxAxR=I formula depicts the ocean of change in a simple and comprehensible way: To generate desired Impact you need to get the Leadership, Approach and Resources right - at the same time. This approach is very different from any other change approach we know and builds on more than 100 transformations which we have been running. And it works! Follow us on exploring the formula and make it work for you!

Book excerpt: lessons on achieving wealth, and happiness, doing well with money isn’t about what you know. It’s about what you do with it and how you execute it. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people. How to manage money, invest it, and make business decisions are typically considered to involve a lot of mathematical calculations, where data and formulae tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world, people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In the psychology of wealth, the author shares 8 lessons exploring the strange ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of life’s most important matters.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Changing Your Paradigm and Shifting your Mindset in 21 Days By Joel L. Joseph, MPA Most textbooks of this nature go through the theory and inundate the reader with historical perspectives and unrelated information to fill up space. I have learned that KISS (Keep it Simple Sweetie) is something that works better when trying to reach a larger group of people. The Follow-up: 21 Days of Accountability power packs knowledge, practice and application in a manner that is palatable and inspiring to the intended audience. Overview Being that this is my 3rd Book (1st: The Sweat off My Back; 2nd: Journey 2 Greatness), I wanted to do something different. I wanted to create a book that addressed the gaps that many of us have and that is with commitment and follow-through. I myself have had to gain an accountability partner or partners that were on the same path with me trying to attain similar goals to keep me on track. This book’s caveat (statement of disclaimer) is that I do NOT try and present a perfect solution. There are no perfect solutions because we are not perfect people. In fact no book can guarantee your success without YOU putting the work or effort in to produce the results that you desire. Many experts and top consultants can agree that there are no shortcuts to success. In fact, the journey to the place in which the person inside of you becomes the very best version of you, experts say that it takes 21 days to change a behavior or form a new habit. I encourage you to take that as a challenge to look at the next 21 days and thereafter as a time to put in the arduous work that it takes to change your lifestyle. As a producer of change you must know that the process of change takes accountability and the ability to measure your progress. This is how you will adjust, stabilize or reduce those things that are necessary to promote the BEST results. At the end of this book I suggest that you look deeply at what you have accomplished and judge it heavily, don’t be easy on yourself. Don’t let yourself off the hook, take the tough approach to be honest about the change that you need to make and simply do it! Journaling is an important part of any process. So purchase a journal (or the detailed journal for this book, which is available at www.jljoseph.com ) and reflect as much as possible of the journey. Enjoy the results, reflect on the ups and down and celebrate often.
