Allerdings sollen auch die Chancen, die eine solche Einführung bietet, nicht außer Acht gelassen werden. Zuerst wird der rechtliche Rahmen geklärt, an den jeder Religionsunterricht in Deutschland gebunden ist. Dazu muss man den oben erwähnten Art.7 Abs.3 des Grundgesetzes genauer betrachten. Danach werden einige besonders bemerkenswerte Modellversuche genauer erläutert. Hier soll der Schwerpunkt auf Baden-Württemberg liegen und im Anschluss auch der Lehrplan, nach dem in diesem Bundesland unterrichtet wird, genauer untersucht werden. All dies führt dann zu der Frage: Brauchen wir islamischen Religionsunterricht an deutschen Schulen? Gibt es tatsächlich gute Gründe, ein solches Lehrfach einzuführen?
