I hope this book gives encouraging words that makes those choices seem not so bad. Yes we all make mistakes and we all are sinners. We can fault others for sinning differently than us. I chose the title of the book because in this day and age we are all connected to some device, website, email, etc which requires an IP address. If we can connect to the world via the internet highway as it used to be called, then why not connect to ourselves by looking deeper within to find the right path for our lives. Not everyone’s path is the same but we all hope to gain insight into life and bring positive to others in life. Here is my contribution to achieve that goal. These are my random thoughts from sitting back watching others and what I feel sometimes in my heart and mind. I am not perfect nor do I want my readers to feel as though I am. I am human and have made mistakes all through my life. I wish that I had encouraging words during some of those dark days or nights. Instead, I chose to encourage myself and at the same time I hope sharing my thoughts may help encourage others.

Book excerpt: In life people find it hard to believe some things they may not understand and/or isn’t the “norm.” The sad fact is this is an inconvenient truth which may be preventing them in accepting other thoughts or ideas in which they are not accustomed. Can you see or define someone else’s pain if you have not experienced it or know there is a disease that centers on pain caused by nerve damage? I am sitting here trying to figure out how to talk about Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (CRPS/RSD) - a rare, chronic (long-term) and progressive condition characterized by severe pain, inflammation and changes in the skin. People who suffer from this disease commonly describe the pain as a burning sensation, which affects one of the arms, legs, hands or feet. Medical professionals are not sure what the cause of CRPS is, but some know that injury or surgery may have occurred before the onset of symptoms. However, in many cases no previous injury took place and there is no evidence of neurological or physical damage to the affected area. You can do a web search to find out more about the disease and its treatments.

From the moment they “graduate” from making castles in sandboxes, the actions and interests of young adolescents are measured by how enticing they will appear on the almighty “college application.” But if you stop to consider that the total student debt in the United States is estimated to be $1.3 trillion (more than credit card and auto loan debt combined), you may begin to wonder what the true “value” of a college education actually is. In Inspiring Champions in Manufacturing, the indomitable Terry M. Iverson challenges our culture’s axiom that sustainable careers may only be achieved through a college education. Through his own love, heritage, and mastery of the fine art of manufacturing, Iverson contends that careers in manufacturing offer stability, security, and prosperity for our entire nation. Iverson illustrates the power of manufacturing through in-depth research, personal stories, and over forty interviews with some of the most remarkable authors, CEOs, sports figures, and other influencers. While half of the book speaks directly to parents, the latter half shepherds inquisitive youth curious about the options available to them. Inspiring Champions in Manufacturing teaches parents and students: Why cultural pressure steers parents and high school students toward college How college pathways leave even the brightest students in debt, deferring home purchases and more The untold potential of a career in manufacturing How the US has a skill shortage that rewards fulfillment with impressive salaries and advancement opportunities How technological advances have made manufacturing into a digital ecosystem versus an industrial complex Action plans for both parents and youth to get involved in manufacturing Inspiring Champions in Manufacturing provides parents and students a roadmap for career success, self-fulfillment, and a zero-debt foundation. With their eyes wide open, students will be free to envision the monumental potential that awaits them in a manufacturing career.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The legal protection of geographical indications (GIs) is characterised by a variety of approaches which translates the many objectives attached to them. These range from protection of the consumers and producers’ interests against unfair competition practices, to territorial development, to preservation of cultural heritage and natural resources. Looking beyond formal legal protection for GIs, this book seeks to re-draw attention to what happens in the real world by exploring the opportunities and constraints which influence whether regional product branding initiatives are successful. It asks: what makes GIs work in practice and does the type of legal protection matter? To answer these questions, this book takes a comparative case study approach and draws upon empirical data collected from 12 GI initiatives in two countries, France and Vietnam. In doing so, this book not only provides new insights and perspectives to the ongoing international legal dispute over GIs, it also contributes to unpacking the factors that make GIs work in practice to bring about economic and non-economic benefits and ultimately support the empowerment of local producers. This book will be of interest to legal academics and practitioners as well as food sociologists, economists, anthropologists and rural development experts.

This book was released on 2015-10-05 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Competition and intellectual property rights (IPRs) are both necessary for a market to work efficiently and to promote consumer welfare. Properly applied, intellectual property rules define a legal framework which allows undertakings to profit from their inventions. This in turn encourages competition among firms and enhances dynamic efficiency, to the benefit of consumer welfare. Standard setting represents one of the fields where the interaction between competition law and IPRs clearly comes to light. The collaborative goal of standard setting organizations (SSOs) is to adopt and promote standards that either do not conflict with anyone’s right or, if they do, are developed under condition that patents are licensed under defined terms. This book examines the tension between IPRs and competition in the standard setting field which can arise when innovators over-exploit the rights they have been granted and hold up an entire industry. The book compares EU and U.S. jurisdictions with a particular focus on the IT and telecommunication sectors. It scrutinizes those practices which could harm standard setting and its goals, looking at misleading conducts by SSOs’ members which may lead to breach the EU and U.S. antitrust provisions on abuse of market power. Recent developments in EU and U.S. standard setting are analysed highlighting the differences in enforcement approaches. The book considers how the optimal balance between IPRs and industry standards can be struck, suggesting a policy model which takes into account both innovators’ interests and SSOs’ goals.
