A 6-MHz CW signal transmitted from South Pole Station was received at Byrd, McMurdo, and Plateau Stations. Fluctuations in the received frequency were recorded by the Doppler method. Various features observed in the records are explained by ionospheric models involving electron drifts and atmospheric waves.
