How can we discover the true hearts desire in the thicket of conflicting desires that bid for our attention? How can we discover absolute or objective truth in an age that offers only relative, subjective perspectives? How can we discover a faith that transcends all possibility of doubt in a culture that portrays faith as belief vulnerable to doubt? How can we discover our true identity in an age and a culture that only reinforces the false? How can we discover the mutually supportive development of the human being and an increasingly global civilization in an age that no longer recognizes the necessity of this mutuality? How can we discover the ruling faculty in human nature in an age that has dethroned reason and offers no viable alternative? Discover your true hearts desire, objective truth, authentic faith, your real identity, and the ruling faculty that makes these discoveries possible. Discover the birth and rise of the unconquerable sun.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The publication of this Corpus Inscriptionum et Monumentorum Religionis M ithriacae is due mainly to the activities of the Koninklijke Vlaamse Academie van Wetenschappen, Kunsten en Schone Letteren (The Royal Flemish Academy of Arts and Sciences) at Brussels, for this work was begun as an entry in a compe tition organized by their Department of Fine Arts and Literature. It was then awarded a prize by a committee elected by the Academy and consisting of the theologian Prof. J. Coppens, the orientalist Prof. G. Rijckmans and the archaeolo gist, the late Prof. H. van de Weerd. Among the first who should be mentioned with respect and gratitude is my teacher Dr. F.J. de Waele, Professor in Archaeology and Ancient History at the Nijmegen University and member of the Royal Flemish Academy. This remarkable teacher inspired a deep interest in the study of Archaeology and of the Mithras cult, and his help has always been invaluable. I am also greatly indebted to the renowned Belgian scholar Prof. Franz Cumont. He was among the first to recognize the necessity of a revision of his standard work Textes et Monuments relatifs aux Mysteres de Mithra. During the last few years before his de'ath he showed a lively interest in the present study, supplied much material and often gave advice, devoting a great part of his leisure and his love of Classical Culture to this new publication of the Mithraic Monuments.

As time passes, his unassuming demeanor takes on a regal persona, his friendly nature transforms to a loving embrace, and his care taker stance takes on the transfixed position as her ever loving protector. Before her very eyes and in her warming heart, the answered prayer that entered her life as an unassuming figure transformed into what has become the light of her life; He has, in time, become her “Unconquered Sun†.Join her journey as she follows her spiritual guide back from the abyss and once again finds her “way†in life, understanding that in the end Love not only restores one’s life, but rekindles one’s Spirit, as she continues on her own journey to become “An Unconquered Sun†.

My middle grade readers are going to be waiting for a turn to read this!" -Stacy A., 5th grade teacher ***** "Gartner’s narrative voice complements the book’s brisk pacing and heightens its unending action…The book echoes the same adventure-driven narrative of Percy Jackson and the Olympians but with its own Roman twist. However, Gartner skillfully embellishes a narrow glimpse of history that is typically studied for its grander narrative." -BookLife Prize, 2021 *****
