Research evidence suggests that PTSD has a neurobiological basis. Current research on the neurobiology of PTSD include the utilisation of functional brain imaging; molecular genetic research; and, the incorporation of cross-system research including neuroendocrine, neurochemical, and neuroimmunological systems.
