Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reprints the 1949 publication of the 1912 translation of the essay Introduction a la metaphysique, which appeared in a French journal in January 1903. While not an epitome of Bergson's (1859-1941) work in general, it provides a good introduction to it, and sets out his meaning of intuition at greater length than elsewhere. This book was released on 2004 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Introduction à la métaphysique by : Henri Bergson
Download or read book Introduction à la métaphysique written by Henri Bergson and published by Presses Universitaires de France - PUF. This book was released on 2011 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Introduction to Metaphysics written by Martin Heidegger and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2014-06-24 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new edition of one of Heidegger’s most important works features a revised and expanded translators’ introduction and an updated translation, as well as the first English versions of Heidegger’s draft of a portion of the text and of his later critique of his own lectures. Other new features include an afterword by Petra Jaeger, editor of the German text. “This revised edition of the translation of Heidegger’s 1935 lectures, with its inclusion of helpful new materials, superbly augments the excellent translation provided in the first edition. The result is a richly rewarding volume, to be recommended to every student of Heidegger’s works, whether a novice or a long-time reader.”—Daniel Dahlstrom, Boston University
Book Synopsis The Human Paradox by : Ralph Heintzman
Download or read book The Human Paradox written by Ralph Heintzman and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2022-08-31 with total page 836 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is a human being? What does it mean to be human? How can you lead your life in ways that best fulfil your own nature? In The Human Paradox, Ralph Heintzman explores these vital questions and offers an exciting new vision of the nature of the human. The Human Paradox aims to counter or correct several contemporary assumptions about the nature of the human, especially the tendency of Western culture, since the seventeenth century, to identify the human with rationality and the rational mind. Using the lens of the virtues, The Human Paradox shows how rediscovering the nature of the human can help not just to understand one’s own paradoxical nature but to act in ways that are more consistent with its full reality. Offering accessible insight from both traditional and contemporary thought, The Human Paradox shows how a fuller, richer vision of the human can help address urgent contemporary problems, including the challenges of cultural and religious diversity, human migration and human rights, the role of the market, artificial intelligence, the future of democracy, and global climate change. This fresh perspective on the Western past will guide readers into what it means to be human and open new possibilities for the future.
