Book Synopsis Intercomparison of Aerosol Instruments by :
Download or read book Intercomparison of Aerosol Instruments written by and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An intercomparison of aerosol instruments conducted February 23-27, 1981, at the Environmental Measurements Laboratory (EML) focused on five instruments: the Pollak and TSI condensation nucleus counters; the Active Scattering Aerosol Spectrometer (ASAS-X); and two aerosol electrometers. Test aerosols of sodium chloride and ammonium fluorescein generated by nebulization/electrostatic classification were used to obtain 195 lines of comparison data. Concentrations measured by the ASAS-X and the TSI aerosol electrometer averaged respectively 1.388 and 1.581 times that measured by the Pollak. These ratios were very stable during the week and there was little effect of particle size or material. Most other comparisons were equally stable. However, a review of past work at EML and elsewhere led to the disturbing conclusion that these ratios may change from year to year, or from season to season. A filter sample was taken from microscopy, concurrent with readings from the ASAS-X and the TSI condensation nucleus counters. In this sample, the two instruments differed by 20%. Within its 20% uncertainty, the filter result matched both the TSI and ASAS-X readings.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annotation Rodgers (U. of Oxford) provides graduate students and other researchers a background to the inverse problem and its solution, with applications relating to atmospheric measurements. He introduces the stages in the reverse order than the usual approach in order to develop the learner's intuition about the nature of the inverse problem. Book Synopsis 2nd Iberian Meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology by : Joan Rosell-Llompart
Download or read book 2nd Iberian Meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology written by Joan Rosell-Llompart and published by PUBLICACIONS UNIVERSITAT ROVIRA I VIRGILI. This book was released on 2014-10-01 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Proceedings Book collects the conference articles and abstracts presented at RICTA 2014, the 2nd Iberian Meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology (also named Reunión Ibérica de Ciencia y Tecnología de los Aerosoles), held during July 7-9, 2014, in Tarragona, Spain. RICTA 2014 is the second Portuguese-Spanish meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology. Like the previous RICTA congress held in 2013 in Évora, Portugal, RICTA 2014 is the continuation of the successful RECTA, Reunión Española de Ciencia y Tecnología de Aerosoles, conferences, which have been held in Spain since 2007. RICTA 2014 has been organized by the Droplets, intErfaces, and floWs (DEW) Research Laboratory of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, with the collaboration of the Asociación Española de Ciencia y Tecnología de los Aerosoles (AECyTA). The congress was held at the Campus Catalunya of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. As in previous editions of RICTA and RECTA, the participation of young researchers has been encouraged, with the organization of the 5th Summer School on Aerosol Science and Technology, as well as awards for the best poster and PhD thesis. This book comprises three parts: the Conference Program, the Conference Articles, and the Conference Abstracts.
