Die erarbeiteten theoretischen Erklärungen für die Einflüsse auf die Selbstwahrnehmung junger Frauen werden im Anschluss zusammengeführt und mit vorliegenden Studien verknüpft. Zudem werden Implikationen für mögliche Handlungsbedarfe abgeleitet. Soziale Medien sind ein fester Bestandteil des Alltags vieler Menschen. Damit haben sich auch die Konsumgewohnheiten der Verbraucher*innen und im gleichen Zuge der Marketingansatz stark verändert. Viele Marken wenden inzwischen verschiedenste Arten von Marketingstrategien in den sozialen Medien an. Eine der am weitesten verbreiteten Marketingansätze ist das Influencer*innen-Marketing, das vor allem auf Instagram, YouTube, Twitter und Snapchat stattfindet. Von besonderer Relevanz sind in diesem Kontext die sogenannten Influencer*innen, Nutzer*innen der Plattformen, die über eine große Reichweite verfügen und mit ihren Inhalten Produkte und Dienstleistungen und somit einen Lebensstil vermarkten. Im Zusammenhang mit Influencer*innen-Marketing ist Instagram heute eine der attraktivsten Social-Media-Plattformen für die Werbebranche. Die Unternehmen gehen eine kommerzielle Zusammenarbeit mit "Instagram-Influencer*innen" ein, sodass die Influencer*innen die Marke in ihre Inhalte einbinden und ihre positiven Erfahrungen hervorheben. Insbesondere bei jüngeren Nutzer*innen ist Instagram zur alltäglichen Begleitung geworden. Aufgrund dieser hohen Relevanz von Influencer*innen für junge Menschen gilt es dem Wirkungspotenzial auf den Grund zu gehen, das Influencer*innen-Marketing speziell für junge Menschen haben kann. Ferner wird eine möglichst spezifische Personengruppe betrachtet, um in einem letzten Schritt sinnvolle, zielgruppenspezifische Implikationen für die Sozialpädagogik und alle beteiligten Akteur*innen sozialer Medien ableiten zu können. Somit wird in dieser Arbeit der Fokus der Forschung nur auf weibliche Personen gesetzt. Diese Entscheidung stützt sich auf die Tatsache, dass bei jungen Menschen der Selbstwert und die Selbstwahrnehmung geschlechtsspezifischen Entwicklungen unterliegen und es folglich sinnvoll ist, den Forschungsfokus auf ein Geschlecht zu legen. Studien legen insbesondere einen Einfluss des Influencer*innenmarketings auf junge Frauen nahe.
