Having treated of continuous current transformers, the static transformer naturally falls within the purview. Hence I traverse, broadly and simply, the whole field of generators and motors, direct and alternating current, together with the accessories involved- voltmeters, ammeters, automatic cut-outs, etc., etc. As to the accumulators themselves, I deal in a simple manner with the principles involved, and describe the main types in use in the telegraph service, including practical details of the running of charging plant, the treatment and behaviour of the cells."
