Download or read book Twelve Stones written by Barbara Carole and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2011-08-31 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Twelve Stones is the story of Barbara Ilaynia, a secular Jew who worships Art and Romance, who tries to unravel the meaning of existence and make every moment a masterpiece. She lives and loves with passion, though not always with wisdom, in Parisian garrets and in Moroccan villages, in the light of Southern France and in sunny California. While embracing the drama of life and inhaling the fragrance of flowers along her path, her search is sometimes misguided by intensity and misled by intellectualism. At the zenith of her quest, Barbara discovers something even more meaningful than truth: She encounters the Source of love. Her life-changing confrontation with God transforms a strong willed, sensual, tough-minded individualist . . . and then her real journey begins. This book is Barbara's altar of remembrance, built from the stones she has pocketed along her winding path. She builds this altar to honor the God of miracles.

Book Synopsis Grace of Monaco by : Jeffrey Robinson
Download or read book Grace of Monaco written by Jeffrey Robinson and published by Da Capo Press. This book was released on 2015-05-05 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The acclaimed biography by Jeffrey Robinson, now revised and updated to coincide with the major motion picture starring Nicole Kidman as Princess Grace. It was one of the most famous romances of the 20th century—Europe's most eligible bachelor, Prince Rainier of Monaco, and America's most beautiful movie star, the Academy Award-winning actress Grace Kelly, fell in love against the backdrop of the closest thing the modern world has to a magical kingdom, the French Riviera's Principality of Monaco. Told with affection and humor, and written with the unprecedented cooperation of Prince Rainier III and his children, Prince Albert, Princess Caroline, and Princess Stephanie, Grace of Monaco takes readers beneath the surface glitz and the glamour of Monte Carlo for a never-to-be-forgotten portrait of the House of Grimaldi.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A year after ex-NYPD detectives and former enemies Joe Serpe and Bob Healy teamed up to solve the murder of a metnally challenged young man who worked at Joe's company--and prevented the Russian Mafia from infiltrating the home heating oil business on Long Island--they are faced with an even more heinous series of crimes. Five oil truck drivers have been robbed and shot to death, their lifeless bodies left to bleed out on the cold and loveless suburban streets. The killer should have chosen his victims more wisely, because the fourth victim, Rusty Monaco, was another retired NYPD detective, one who had saved Joe Serpe's life while they were both still on the job.

Book Synopsis Monte Carlo Methods by : J. Hammersley
Download or read book Monte Carlo Methods written by J. Hammersley and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-07 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph surveys the present state of Monte Carlo methods. we have dallied with certain topics that have interested us Although personally, we hope that our coverage of the subject is reasonably complete; at least we believe that this book and the references in it come near to exhausting the present range of the subject. On the other hand, there are many loose ends; for example we mention various ideas for variance reduction that have never been seriously appli(:d in practice. This is inevitable, and typical of a subject that has remained in its infancy for twenty years or more. We are convinced Qf:ver theless that Monte Carlo methods will one day reach an impressive maturity. The main theoretical content of this book is in Chapter 5; some readers may like to begin with this chapter, referring back to Chapters 2 and 3 when necessary. Chapters 7 to 12 deal with applications of the Monte Carlo method in various fields, and can be read in any order. For the sake of completeness, we cast a very brief glance in Chapter 4 at the direct simulation used in industrial and operational research, where the very simplest Monte Carlo techniques are usually sufficient. We assume that the reader has what might roughly be described as a 'graduate' knowledge of mathematics. The actual mathematical techniques are, with few exceptions, quite elementary, but we have freely used vectors, matrices, and similar mathematical language for the sake of conciseness.
