Furthermore, the accumulation of toxins and disordered nutrition causes a slowdown in metabolism and hinder the disposal of lipids; consequently, you gain weight faster. Hence the need to change our diet in order to rebalance the excess acidity in the body. Our health is in fact linked to maintaining a correct pH, which is the unit of measurement of the level of acidity; on the scale from 0 to 14 we go from the most acidic substances (from 0 to 7) to the most alkaline, or basic ones (from 7 to 14). A digit close to 7 indicates a neutral pH. Each part of our body has a specific pH, without which it cannot function. If our is rich in foods that produce acid waste, these will clog up the connective tissue above all, hindering the exchanges through which cells receive nutrients and eliminate waste. Thus, fats and toxins accumulate, affecting health and the body. The basic rule of an alkaline diet is easy: decrease the consumption of foods that release acid residues and increase the intake of foods with basic residues.
