This book was released on 2015-06-30 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Seventh-Day Sabbath and the Christian Doctrine of Redemption is a book every Christian must have in their home library. The author tackles the biblical doctrine of redemption in a convincing manner and drives home the centrality of the Sabbath in redemption. Over the past hundred years, the witness of the sciences such as physics and biochemistry, including mathematics as well as the testimony of archaeology and history has put the skeptics of the Bible on the defensive. To this overwhelming testimony, the author adds the witness of recent fulfilled Bible prophecy. The author proceeds to show persuasively how recent fulfilled prophecies have proved once again that the Bible is truly the Word of God. In the book, the closing work of the gospel on the planet is shown to have a prophetic edge that no one person on the globe can afford to ignore.

Book Synopsis The Institutes of Biblical Law Vol. 1 by : R. J. Rushdoony
Download or read book The Institutes of Biblical Law Vol. 1 written by R. J. Rushdoony and published by Chalcedon Foundation. This book was released on 2009-11-16 with total page 779 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To attempt to study Scripture without studying its law is to deny it. To attempt to understand Western civilization apart from the impact of Biblical law within it and upon it is to seek a fictitious history and to reject twenty centuries and their progress. The Institutes of Biblical Law has as its purpose a reversal of the present trend. it is called "Institutes" in the older meaning of the that word, i.e., fundamental principles, here of law, because it is intended as a beginning, as an instituting consideration of that law which must govern society, and which shall govern society under God. To understand Biblical law, it is necessary to understand also certain basic characteristics of that law. In it, certain broad premises or principles are declared. These are declarations of basic law. The Ten Commandments give us such declarations. A second characteristics of Biblical law, is that the major portion of the law is case law, i.e., the illustration of the basic principle in terms of specific cases. These specific cases are often illustrations of the extent of the application of the law; that is, by citing a minimal type of case, the necessary jurisdictions of the law are revealed. The law, then, asserts principles and cites cases to develop the implications of those principles, with is purpose and direction the restitution of God's order.

I am so grateful for Bill Gaultiere, who lived Easy Yoke before he wrote it. He's helped count- less harried leaders - like me! - drink from the life-giving waters of Jesus." Larry Winger, CEO of Provision Ministries "I took my pastoral staff and elders through Easy Yoke." Steve Phillips, Lead Pastor of The Journey Church

Book Synopsis The Wounded Healer by : Henri J. M. Nouwen
Download or read book The Wounded Healer written by Henri J. M. Nouwen and published by Image. This book was released on 1979-02-02 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A radically fresh interpretation of how we can best serve others from the bestselling author of The Return of the Prodigal Son, hailed as “one of the world’s greatest spiritual writers” by Christianity Today “In our own woundedness, we can become a source of life for others.” In this hope-filled and profoundly simple book, Henri Nouwen inspires devoted men and women who want to be of service in their church or community but who have found traditional outreach alienating and ineffective. Weaving keen cultural analysis with his psychological and religious insights, Nouwen presents a balanced and creative theology of service that begins with the realization of fundamental woundedness in human nature. According to Nouwen, ministers are called to identify the suffering in their own hearts and make that recognition the starting point of their service. Ministers must be willing to go beyond their professional, somewhat aloof roles and leave themselves open as fellow human beings with the same wounds and suffering as those they serve. In other words, we heal from our wounds. The Wounded Healer is a thoughtful and insightful guide that will be welcomed by anyone engaged in the service of others.
