Book Synopsis Combustion Measurements by : Norman Chigier
Download or read book Combustion Measurements written by Norman Chigier and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1991-04-01 with total page 556 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book begins with an introduction to the general problems of making measurements in high temperature and a presentation of chemically reacting flow systems. It describes each instrument with the various diagnostic techniques and discusses measurements that have been made in furnaces, flames, and rocket engines. The detailed measurement techniques described in this book cover a wide spectrum of applications in combustion systems, including gas turbine, rocket measurement techniques that were developed in laboratories. Information obtained on detailed temperature, velocity, particle size, and gas concentration distribution is leading to improve understanding of the chemical combustion process and to design imporvements in combustors.

Book Synopsis Holography and Speckle by : Wolfgang Osten
Download or read book Holography and Speckle written by Wolfgang Osten and published by Springer. This book was released on 2023-11-30 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a collection of articles written by the world's leading scientists in the fields of holography, speckle, optical metrology, non-destructive testing, interferometry, shape measurement, and diffractive optics, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of holography in 2021 and its remarkable impact on numerous areas of science and engineering to the present day. Sixty years after the publication of the seminal article by Leith and Upatnieks, 55 years after the discovery of holographic interferometry by Stetson and Powel, 50 years after the invention of speckle metrology and Gabor's remarkable Nobel lecture in 1971, this unique collection provides a complete overview of this exciting field. More than 40 peer-reviewed papers offer a wealth of information on the history, 3D displays, modern microscopy, metrology, deep learning, and tools for virtual reality. An electronic version was published open access in the journal "Light - Advanced Manufacturing”, 2022.
Book Synopsis Interferometry in Speckle Light by : P. Jacquot

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These proceedings reflect the work presented at the conference "Interferometry in Speckle Light: Theory and Applications", held at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, (EPFL), the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland. The event took place from September 25 to September 28, 2000. Thanks to the diligence of the authors, this book has been published just in time for the conference. Writing this preface in July, in anticipation of the conference, we have tried to envisage how this book will benefit the quality of discourse between authors and attendees. "Interferometry in Speckle Light: Theory and Applications" results from a bottom-up approach and is original in several ways. This conference is not part of a series; on the contrary, it is a single event. The idea of gathering scientists and engineers for a general discussion on the theory and the practice of interferometry, involving rough, non-optically polished objects, was "in the air". An opportunity of this sort was not provided by any of the conferences scheduled when the present one was conceived. For this reason, it was easy to convince a small number of renowned researchers, all of them active in the field of holographic and speckle interferometry, to organize a conference. To be specific, they are the people listed below as members of the scientific and local committees. At the same time, a particular circumstance, namely the retirement of Professor L. Pflug, helped to detennine the location of the meeting.

Download or read book Handbook of Holographic Interferometry written by Thomas Kreis and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-04-20 with total page 554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book presents the principles and methods of holographic interferometry - a coherent-optical measurement technique for deformation and stress analysis, for the determination of refractive-index distributions, or applied to non-destructive testing. Emphasis of the book is on the quantitative computer-aided evaluation of the holographic interferograms. Based upon wave-optics the evaluation methods, their implementation in computer-algorithms, and their applications in engineering are described.

Download or read book Holographic Interferometry written by Pramod K. Rastogi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Holographic Interferometry provides a valuable and up-to-date source of information in the rapidly expanding field. The eight specialists` contributions cover the principles and methods currently in use. The scope of the book has been limited to the study of opaque object and ample space has been devoted to a comprehensive treatment of the phenomena of fringe formation, with a particular emphasis on the quantitative evaluation of the holographic interference fringe patterns. The emergence of computer-aided fringe analysis and phase-shifting techniques have simplified considerably the quantative real-time measurements of object shapes and deformations. The last two chapters provide a reasonably detailedoverview of full-field holographic methods for the measurement of shapes, displacements, dervatives, difference displacements and vibrations.
