Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first three books in the compelling Hidden Sanctuary thriller series are now available as a 3-Book collection, starting with the original and gripping novel, Hidden: Her instinct is to get to the truth. His instinct is to run like hell from it. In the abandoned buildings skirting the world’s richest city is a hidden tribe – men who have turned their backs on their old lives and the society that rejects them. They have cultivated a new life, loyal to a doctrine that forbids them from dwelling on their pasts or speculating on their future. It keeps them at peace. And for Jacob, it keeps him alive. But when an Outsider from the city forces her way into Jacob’s life, that peace is shattered. A frustrated journalist, Sada is determined to learn more about the depth of the scars her city is leaving behind in its quest for financial global power. Except her persistence not only threatens Jacob’s place in the tribe, it leads him to question it. At the same time as the cracks rise to the surface of this once idealised existence, so do pieces of a past Jacob has long since buried, an event so dark and brutal that until now even his own mind has protected him from it. Resisting Sada’s hand of friendship and the instinctive pull of the ‘outside world’, Jacob is forced into making a choice… Remain loyal to a doctrine he no longer believes in. Or else face a past that will surely kill him. "Raw and moving." "An intense read." "Any book hereafter isn't going to be the same."
Book Synopsis Lake of Sins Series Box Set Books 1-3: A dystopian, genetic engineering, adventure fantasy boxset by : L. S. O'Dea
Download or read book Lake of Sins Series Box Set Books 1-3: A dystopian, genetic engineering, adventure fantasy boxset written by L. S. O'Dea and published by Linda O'Dea. This book was released on 2017-05-28 with total page 768 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Books 1- 3 in the series filled with human-animal hybrids where class determines imprisonment or freedom. Escape: Every year after harvest the weakest are removed from the encampment. None of them are ever seen or heard from again. Trinity’s only hope of escape lies in the forest. She’s not afraid of the creatures that live there. There’s nothing bigger than foxes in those woods, except this time something is different. This time she’s hunted from land and sea by predators that should only exist in legends. Surrounded by three enemies. Surrender is her only option, but which one should she choose? A captivating dystopian read filled with human-animal hybrids and creatures you’ve never even imagined. Secrets In Blood: The disturbing and yet exciting sequel to Lake of Sins: Escape. Having discovered the horrible fate of her kind, Trinity has left her family behind and is fleeing from the Almightys. Her friends have promised to help her, but they don’t know that her blood holds a secret that some in power want revealed and others want destroyed. Hugh Truent, an Almighty, learns that Trinity is a product of the mating of two different classes which is impossible, but if it’s true, it’s the discovery of a lifetime. He must catch her before she is destroyed, but someone will stop at nothing to ensure he fails, putting his life and the lives of those he loves in danger. Hangman's Army: A rebellion is brewing in the world of the Lake of Sins while Hugh Truent sits in prison days away from his execution. After taking his findings about the genetic similarities between the classes to the Supreme Almighty and the Council, Hugh had been arrested for treason and all his evidence had vanished as if made from smoke. To protect his family, he cut off all contact with the outside world while he sat in prison for over four years waiting for his execution. He has no idea that some of his reports were leaked to the other classes and that civil war looms on the horizon. Trinity and her friends have no hope of winning the war unless they can unite the classes. In order to do that, they need someone everyone will follow. They need the one person all the classes trust and believe in. They need Hugh. That means they have to break him out of a maximum-security prison and convince him to lead their army, but that won’t be easy because Hugh wants revenge and he’s not going to let anything get in his way especially mouthy, attractive, know-it-all Trinity. Interview with the Author Q. – So, why should someone read the Lake of Sins series? Well, because it’s great (smiles). However, if you’re looking for your typical dystopian, post-apocalyptic, survival thriller then you should look somewhere else. This story has been described as a one-of-a-kind world created in a unique dystopian society. The characters in the series are human-animal hybrids—genetic mutations or evil experiments is yet to be revealed. It’s an entire new species of characters who don’t fit in the typical genre categories of vampire, werewolf, witch, fairies or even angels and demons. The world of the Lake of Sins is segregated by class with the humans ruling supreme. In book one, Escape, Trinity, a sixteen-year-old Producer (the lowest of the classes), unwittingly sets off a collision between the classes when she flees into the forest to discover the fate of the teenagers who are removed from camp every year after harvest. Some say they are taken to another camp to keep bloodlines strong. Others say they are tortured. No one knows and Trinity is determined to find out, but what she doesn’t expect is to be hunted by mutant creatures and predators long thought to be extinct. The books are fast paced with adventure and mutated creatures around every corner. There are legends that are truth and societal truths that are well guarded lies. All-in-all, it’s a unique and exciting read and you should give it a try. I think you’ll love it. The Chimera Chronicles series also takes place in the world of the Lake of Sins. These stories are prequels, explaining how some of the characters, who you meet in the Lake of Sins series, became monsters. Q. – Who should read the Lake of Sins series? Although there’s a strong, female lead in Lake of Sins, the audience for both series is broad. I have fans (male and female) aged ten through eighty. Anyone who likes gory thrillers that are dark, a little disturbing and packed with action will enjoy these books. However, a word of caution is in order. These books are not for the squeamish. Some scenes are bloody and violent almost falling into the horror genre, but the interactions between the characters are funny, poignant and loving (and a love triangle develops as the stories progress). Still, I wouldn’t recommend these books to anyone under thirteen without the parents reading the books first.

Book Synopsis Bitter Harvest Series, Books 1-3 by : Ann Gimpel
Download or read book Bitter Harvest Series, Books 1-3 written by Ann Gimpel and published by Ann Gimpel Books LLC. This book was released on 2018-10-12 with total page 879 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 1200 pages of spellbinding dystopian urban fantasy. In a world with few choices, evil runs rampant and none of the old rules apply. What began as an exploratory mission to see if anything is left on Earth turns sour fast. A Vampire attack, a possessed priest, and a gateway to Hell mean fallout from the spell gone bad that pinned everyone in South America is far from finished. Retreat is tempting, but nowhere is safe. Evil is leaching in from somewhere. If they can’t find the breach, they’re finished. Deceived Vampires aren’t supposed to feel anything beyond hunger and bloodlust, but Viktor still feels a whole lot. He hates what he’s become, but there’s no escape. Not from the dying city smothering him, or from his maker, an arrogant tyrant who demands absolute loyalty. Twisted The sea is the only life Juan’s ever known—not counting the decade he spent as a Vampire. Those years gave him a healthy aversion for anything supernatural, but he’s a shifter now. It’s way better than being one of the undead, but he still doesn’t trust magic. Paired up with Aura to teach him, he falls and falls hard, but she spurns his advances. Abandoned Recco misses his cozy lab and well-organized veterinary clinic, but ten years as a Vampire stripped him of any illusions. Life is done handing him everything he wants. He could rail against fate—which never bought him much—or suck it up and keep going. Defeating the Cataclysm broke Vampirism’s hold on him, though. Even better, it threw Zoe square in his path and kicked open the door for him to bond with a wolf. PRAISE FOR THE BITTER HARVEST SERIES: “I am a huge fan of this author's work having read quite a few of her different series of books and I was so surprised by how different this book is from her other series, surprised and blown away by how amazing it was and how much I adored this book!!!!” Goodreads Review “What a cool new world and an awesome story. A spell gone wrong and a cataclysm has hit, trapping the people, shifters, and vampires in Ushuaia. The vampires are at the top of the food chain and everything is dying.” Goodreads Review “Just my kind of story. The sea, a ship, someone named Viktor to make the story fantastic. He just wants to get back to a life on the sea even though it’s tough. Obviously, it’s not going to be easy. Not to be missed. The audio book has a narrator that has you listening until the end.” Goodreads Review “Entertaining and I loved the premise! It's been awhile since I've read a vampire book, and I really enjoyed Ann Gimpel's storytelling.” Goodreads Review Fans of the following books and series are known to enjoy this post-apocalyptic, urban fantasy series: a kingdom of exiles a shade of vampire academy of magic dragon's gift accidentally in love attack by magic dragon's gift awakening dragon born in fire burning tower call of the dragon choose love covert fae crime of magic dragon's gift crimes against magic dark stranger the dream darkness bound dragons of the darkblood secret society druid enforcer ghostwater goddesss choice golden age greyriver shifters hotbloods hour of darkness house of darken iron and magic jinn's dominion junkyard druid Kate Daniels’ Magic Series master of magic dragon's gift natural mage natural witch obsidian son raised in fire rogues of magic shadow keeper shadow kissed space knight 4 twisted fate unchained undercover magic dragon's gift war god's mantle wheel of time wild hunger Keywords related to this post-apocalyptic, epic fantasy series: Shifter romance, Dystopian, Post-Apocalyptic Fantasy Books, Epic Urban Fantasy series, Werewolves and Shifters, Vampires, Animals & Nature, Popular Series, Paranormal Fantasy Books, Top Rated Books, Tricks, Fantasy Omnibus, Spells & Charms, Romance Books, Backcountry, Fantasy Romance Books, Essential Reads, Epic Fantasy, Omnibus Bundle, Paranormal Romance Series, Adventure Books, Mythology and Folklore, Top Rated Fantasy Collection With Shapeshifters, Fantasy Bundle, Heroine, Supernatural and Occult, Sword And Sorcery, Shifter Romance, Fantasy Stories, Shifter Series, Fantasy, Shifter Omnibus, Best Rated Omnibus, Omnibus Collection, Paranormal Romance Books, Magical Adventures.

Book Synopsis 3 books to know Dystopian Fiction by : Jack London
Download or read book 3 books to know Dystopian Fiction written by Jack London and published by Tacet Books. This book was released on 2020-05-02 with total page 842 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the3 Books To Knowseries, our idea is to help readers learn about fascinating topics through three essential and relevant books. These carefully selected works can be fiction, non-fiction, historical documents or even biographies. We will always select for you three great works to instigate your mind, this time the topic is:Dystopian Fiction. Samuel Butler used his tale, Erewhon, to satirize the injustices of Victorian England through a utopian society in which all customs and social laws were the exact opposite of what they were in England. This anti-utopian novel, like many experimental Victorian literary works, resists easy categorization. The Sleeper Awakes is a novel by H. G. Wells, about a man who sleeps for two hundred and three years, waking up in a completely transformed London where he has become the richest man in the world. The main character awakes to see his dreams realised, and the future revealed to him in all its horrors and malformities. The book has elements explored later both in Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. The Iron Heel is a novel by Jack London, first published in 1907. Generally considered to be "the earliest of the modern dystopian" fiction, it chronicles the rise of an oligarchic tyranny in the United States. A forerunner of soft science fiction novels and stories of the 1960s and '70s, the book stresses future changes in society and politics while paying much less attention to technological changes. The book is unusual among the literature of the time in being a first-person narrative of a woman protagonist written by a man. This is one of many books in the series 3 Books To Know. If you liked this book, look for the other titles in the series, we are sure you will like some of the topics.
