This book was released on 2006-01-19 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control Systems for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning, Sixth Edition is complete and covers both hardware control systems and modern control technology. The material is presented without bias and without prejudice toward particular hardware or software. Readers with an engineering degree will be reminded of the psychrometric processes associated with heating and air conditioning as they learn of the various controls schemes used in the variety of heating and air conditioning system types they will encountered in the field. Maintenance technicians will also find the book useful because it describes various control hardware and control strategies that were used in the past and are prevalent in most existing heating and air conditioning systems. Designers of new systems will find the fundamentals described in this book to be a useful starting point, and they will also benefit from descriptions of new digital technologies and energy management systems. This technology is found in modern building HVAC system designs.

Download or read book Air-conditioning America written by Gail Cooper and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 1998 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cooper demonstrates how the lure of the open air, from rooftop schoolrooms to open-air theaters to the front porch, challenged air conditioning. Americans were slow to give up the social rituals of hot-weather living - the cold drink, the cool clothes, the summer vacation - for the comforts of either the window air conditioner or the central system.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: HEATING, VENTILATING, AND AIR CONDITIONING Completely revised with the latest HVAC design practices! Based on the most recent standards from ASHRAE, this Sixth Edition provides complete and up-to-date coverage of all aspects of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. You’ll find the latest load calculation procedures, indoor air quality procedures, and issues related to ozone depletion. Throughout the text, numerous worked examples clearly show you how to apply the concepts in realistic scenarios. In addition, several computer programs (several new to this edition) help you understand key concepts and allow you to simulate various scenarios, such as psychometrics and air quality, load calculations, piping system design, duct system design, and cooling coil simulation. Additionally, the load calculation program has been revised and updated. These computer programs are available at the book’s website: www.wiley.com/college/mcquiston Key Features of the Sixth Edition Additional new worked examples in the text and on the accompanying software. Chapters 6-9 have been extensively revised for clarity and ease of use. Chapter 8, The Cooling Load, now includes two approaches: the heat balance method, as recommended by ASHRAE, and the simpler RTS method. Both approaches include computer applications to aid in calculations. Provides complete, authoritative treatment of all aspects of HVAC, based on current ASHRAE standards. Numerous worked examples and homework problems provide realistic scenarios to apply concepts.

Book Synopsis Control Systems for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning by : R. Haines
Download or read book Control Systems for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning written by R. Haines and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are two reasons why we have a new edition every four or five years. The first is that technology changes. Chapter 10, on computer-based con trols, has had to be almost completely rewritten. Fundamentals don't change, but the tools available to us do change. Evaluation and proper use of those tools makes it even more imperative that we understand fundamentals. Many of our control problems stem from the use of new devices as a solution to problems that are, in fact, control design errors. New gadgets, for example, Direct Digital Controls (DDC), will not solve basic problems and may even compound them. None-the-Iess, you will find an extensive discussion of DDC because I think it is the probable "future" in HVAC control. But it must be applied with a good understanding of fundamentals. The second reason is that I keep learning and need to pass on my new and improved understanding to my readers. Thus you will find a number of small but important revisions, a dissertation on control "modes," and a much more detailed discussion of how electronic control devices work. There are a few places where I have corrected what I now perceive to be errors. I apologize for these. I have been much encouraged by the acceptance of this book in the past, and I hope that this new edition will be helpful. Thank you for your support.

Book Synopsis Air-conditioning System Design Manual by : Walter T. Grondzik
Download or read book Air-conditioning System Design Manual written by Walter T. Grondzik and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2007 with total page 419 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Air Conditioning Manual assists entry-level engineers in the design of air-conditioning systems. It is also usable - in conjunction with fundamental HVAC&R resource material - as a senior- or graduate-level text for a university course in HVAC system design. The manual was written to fill the void between theory and practice - to bridge the gap between real-world design practices and the theoretical calculations and analytical procedures or on the design of components. This second edition represents an update and revision of the manual. It now features the use of SI units throughout, updated references and the editing of many illustrations. * Helps engineers quickly come up with a design solution to a required air conditioning system. * Includes issues from comfort to cooling load calculations. * New sections on "Green HVAC" systems deal with hot topic of sustainable buildings.
