An unseen battle is raging, more vital to the future of humanity and the planet than any other: we must learn to control our own human minds. In this volume, one of the world's great Sages provides rare personal insights and practical examples, coupled with provocative challenges to the powers-that-be, of how to change the course of civilisation. Babaji's every word strikes and heals our wounded minds and puts us on a path to peace. Impact on Russia -- The world needs spiritual directions, which we have found at Gobind Sadan. If we solve the problems from a spiritual perspective and transform human consciousness, then we will receive the wisdom to solve all our problems. The teachings of Baba Virsa Singh are the real mechanism of transformation. Yuriy Ageshin, legal advisor to the Duma. Impact on India -- Babaji has offered us a practical example of how we as a nation and a world can overcome our religious differences. Babaji himself worked and linked people to the land, and showed the way for our country to progress. Kuldip Nayar, eminent journalist, former High Commissioner to England. Overcoming Religious Conflict -- In the way that God`s messenger does it, Babaji has been teaching us who live in one world but in so many different ways how to live as one nation and as one human family. Dr. Bhai Mohan Singh, Chairman Emeritus, Ranbaxy, Ltd. Overcoming Poverty --The work is worship approach pioneered by Babaji at Gobind Sadan is the spiritual soul mate of my work in empowering the poor. Dr Naresh Singh, Director, UNDP Commission, Empowerment of the Poor. Overcoming Terrorism -- Babaji's spiritual presence was indeed the determining factor in bringing peace. But the lessons we have learned and model we have gained are definitely transferable. S K Chhibber, former Governor, Mizoram.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the Sun of Suns Rose: The Darkness of the Creeds Was Dispelled is the first of the eight books of Sehje Rachio Khalsa of Harinder Singh Mehboob, who had written it in a revealed and metaphysical approach after a continuous meditative study for thirty to thirty-five years of world religions, prophets, philosophy, history, psychology, mythology, world folklore, and the different forms of literature as the world epic, divine poetry, fiction, drama, and different types of prose of the elite genius of the world. In this large book, the poet/writer raises so many questions about the decline of world religions with the passage of time, the concept of pure history, the concept of death, the concept of greater holy war, the concept of pure nature, the concept of ecstasy (vismad), the concept of eternal victory, etc. In this book, he describes the answer to the above questions in detail in the most convincing ways. In this worlds history of more than four thousand years, this book can be compared only with very few books that are authorized as distinctive classics as the Bezels of Wisdom by Ibn al-Arabi, The Awakening of Faith by Ashav Ghousha, Kashful Majub by Data Ganj Hujbiri, etc.

What emerges is a majestic and magisterial portrait of a great enlightener who not only founded one of the world's major religions but whose singular message of unity and hope has endured centuries after he first walked the earth. The First Sikh unites rigorous scholarship with a deep love for the subject, offering fascinating insights into Guru Nanak's life and times even as it explores key facets of Sikhism. Moreover, it shows us how Guru Nanak continues to remain relevant in a twenty-first-century reality.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For a world mired in catastrophe, nothing could be more urgent than the question of survival. In this theoretically and methodologically groundbreaking book, Adam Y. Stern calls for a critical reevaluation of survival as a contemporary regime of representation. In Survival, Stern asks what texts, what institutions, and what traditions have made survival a recognizable element of our current political vocabulary. The book begins by suggesting that the interpretive key lies in the discursive prominence of "Jewish survival." Yet the Jewish example, he argues, is less a marker of Jewish history than an index of Christianity's impact on the modern, secular, political imagination. With this inversion, the book repositions Jewish survival as the supplemental effect and mask of a more capacious political theology of Christian survival. The argument proceeds by taking major moments in twentieth-century philosophy, theology, and political theory as occasions for collecting the scattered elements of survival's theological-political archive. Through readings of canonical texts by secular and Jewish thinkers—Hannah Arendt, Walter Benjamin, Franz Rosenzweig, and Sigmund Freud—Stern shows that survival belongs to a history of debates about the sovereignty and subjection of Christ's body. Interrogating survival as a rhetorical formation, the book intervenes in discussions about biopolitics, secularism, political theology, and the philosophy of religion.

Book excerpt: Guru Nanak was born on 15 April 1469, on the day of Kartik Purnima in a village named Talwandi. The tradition of Guru and disciple is very ancient in India. The place of Guru is considered to be even higher than God. It is only through the Guru that one attains worldly knowledge, and only through the Guru does one realize the enlightenment of how to attain God. Guru Nanak was born at a time when there was no central organized power in India. Foreign invaders were engaged in looting the country. In the name of religion, superstitions and rituals were spread all around. In such a difficult times, Guru Nanak proved to be a great philosopher & thinker of Sikhism. Guru Nanak won the hearts of people with his melodious simple voice. In a very simple language the message of Ek Onkar was explained to the whole world that all humans are brothers of each other. God is the Father of all, then how can we be high and low despite being the children of one Father? In order to clear all these misconceptions, he implemented the teachings in his own life and became an ideal by propagating religion all around. He set an example of social harmony and gave the true message of humanity.
